The Best Time of Day to Shop for Shoes

To determine the best time of day to shop for shoes, decide what type of shoes you are shopping for and what type of shoe shopper you are. There are two types of shoe shoppers: The first type of shoe shopper shops for shoes merely out of the necessity of needing something to cover their feet to protect them against the elements. They may or may not enjoy the process of shopping for shoes. The second type of shoe shopper has a passion for shoes and is eager and willing to search for new shoes to satisfy their shoe hunger.

If you fall into the first category of a shoe shopper and only shop for shoes because you have to, shopping in the afternoon and evening may be the best time for you to shop for shoes. Because feet swell during the day, this is especially important if you are shopping for tight fitting shoes such as dress shoes, pumps, etc. Those cute high heels that you try on when the shoe store first opens in the morning may not fit so well later in the day after your feet swell. If you are shopping for shoes that do not have such a snug fit, such as tennis shoes or sports shoes, shopping in the morning may be fine. When deciding on a size, allow for a little swelling and try these shoes on with sports socks.

For shoe shoppers who shop for shoes strictly out of pleasure, every hour of the day and night is the best time to shop for shoes! A true lover of shoes can have dozens or hundreds of pairs of shoes. They most likely have spent hours shoe shopping and have tried all types of shoes on at all hours of the day and night. With this much experience in shoe shopping, they are very familiar with sizes and styles that work for them and can successfully shop for shoes any time of the day.
