The Deli
Live Music Bar
309 White Street, Norman, Oklahoma 73069
(405) 329-3534
http://www.thedeli.us/

The Deli is a self-described "five star dive" that provides a venue for some of Norman's best local music. Live music can be enjoyed 365 days a year. Home of the Red Cup, the Deli bartenders serve up the very large Red Cup containing draft beer. The Red Cup is not for those with a weak stomach. The Deli can get quite smoky, so plan on washing your hair twice to get the cigarette scent out.

Do not miss local musician Mike Hosty every Sunday night. Listen to his hilarious commentary between songs. You will soon know every lyric and be singing along with the locals. Wear your dancing shoes.

Joe's Taverna
Full Service Bar
435 Buchanan Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma 73069
405-447-9282

Joe's Taverna is the most off the beaten path of historic campus corner's bars. It has a small "Cheer's" feel. Meet the big Italian fella Joe himself, the owner who often hangs out in the Taverna.

Be sure to get a birthday t-shirt, which is free on your birthday. In the rapidly changing campus corner area, Joe's Taverna is one of the old mainstays.

O'Connell's Irish Pub & Grill
Pub Fare (Hamburgers, sandwiches, full bar, and more)
120 East Lindsey Street, Norman, Oklahoma 73069
(Note that O'Connell's will soon move to their new location on historic campus corner just north of the OU campus.)
405-364-8454

O'Connell's is a traditional college hangout to watch sports or have a beer before heading over to the big football game at Owen Field. Service can sometimes be a bit slow. Enjoy a game of pool or darts at this roomy pub.

On St. Patrick's Day, O'Connell's is the place to be all-day and into the night for green eggs and ham as well as green beer.

On your birthday, make the rounds and pick up your free O'Connell's birthday t-shirt.

Library Bar & Grill
Pub Fare (Sandwiches, nachos, gourmet pizzas, beer, and more)
607 W Boyd St, Norman, Oklahoma 73069
(405) 366-7465

The Library is a low key, historic and cozy place to hang out with friends. Or, continue your fabulous conversation after dinner on with your date at The Library.

Order a Brown Owl Ale, and show off your knowledge about The Library. The Library has gone through several names, beginning with and currently called The Library. In the past, The Library was called The Brown Owl as well as Pinks.

The Mont
Burgers, mexican specialties, and home-style entrees
1300 Classen Boulevard, Norman, Oklahoma 73071
(405) 329-3330
http://www.themont.com/

The Mont is a lovely historic building with lush landscaping. It is located just east of campus corner on the southeast corner of Boyd Street and Classen Boulevard. The awesome outside dining patio area has water misters to keep you cool in hot weather, and it has heaters to keep you warm in cool weather. When a train goes by on the train tracks right next to The Mont, your lively conversation will be interrupted. Alas, this is all part of the charm of The Mont.

For a late evening snack, order the delicious Chili Con Queso and chips along with the yummy Swirl frozen drink. Keep the cute plastic Mont stirrer that comes with the drink as a souvenir. If it is your birthday, be sure to get a free Mont birthday t-shirt.

If it's too cold to sit outside, go inside and check out the historic "Town Tavern" OU football scoreboards dating back to 1947. They are updated after every OU football game. No matter your age, reminisce about your favorite OU football season.

Good list. I guess at my age I'd stick out like a sore thumb! It stinks getting old. :-) Dave
