The Best TV Moms

Stephanie Armstrong
We all have our favorite TV moms. There are some TV moms that just seem too perfect and then there are the television mothers who admit to not knowing all of life's answers. These are my favorite TV moms who I like to watch and wish would make me a home cooked meal.

Carol Brady

I have seen every single episode of The Brady Bunch at least three times. Carol Brady pretty much raised me as a child. She instilled good values into me and taught me about fairness. I like how Carol Brady was so wholesome and I really wished that could have been my mother. She had six kids to look after, including three from Mr. Brady's previous marriage, but she loved them all the same and took the time to express that love to each one of them. I can relate to her as a mother because I want my children to grow up with good judgment and treat everyone fairly.

Kitty Forman

Kitty always makes me laugh on That 70s Show. She is one of my favorite TV moms because she always put up with her husband's disgruntled attitude and tried to put a positive spin on things. I think she is one of the most realistic TV moms because she liked to get her drink on. I can certainly relate to that aspect of her personality!

Marie Barone

Everybody Loves Raymond is a hilarious show and the overbearing Marie Barone is my favorite TV mom because she loves her children so much that she practically smothers them. I hope I don't smother my children, but I know I love them just the same. I want to make sure that they are always fed and loved. I just don't want to live next door to them when they're grown up.

Nancy Botwin

Showtime's hit show Weeds brought a fresh new take on a mother's love for her family. The show is about Nancy Botwin, a widow who turns to dealing marijuana to support her family when in a bind. I admire the great sacrifices that Nancy makes on the show and can relate to her character because I know that I would do anything for my children. She is a modern TV mom that broke the mold. She isn't glorified and depicted as all knowing. This show conveys the fact that mothers are only human and we don't always make the right decisions, but we have the best intentions with our family in mind.
