The Best UFO Sites on the Web

Richelle Hawks
It's no secret the internet is chock full of websites about UFOs. Like sites on every other subject, UFO sites range in widely in quality and content from great to preposterously poor. Many are just mediocre too, and essentially either regurgitate the same old stories and angles, never get updated, or are steeped in outrageous conspiracy viewpoints.

Fortunately, for those looking for serious information and regularly updated, organized, well-maintained, and easily navigable sites, there are several to choose from. Below, in no particular order, are my choices for the best UFO sites on the web.

UFO Casebook
www.ufocasebook.com

The UFO Casebook website is an all-inclusive site for those interested in all areas of the UFO phenomenon. The home page is updated daily with several links to UFO related news and articles. There are many case files, and they can be navigated by subgroups types: photographic cases, UFO/plane incidents, UFO landings, physical trace cases, UFOs near water, triangle UFO cases, and so forth. There are other great features too. Their 'History of UFOs' link proves to be an extensive primer, and is essential reading for anyone new to the subject, or those just desiring an easy to read, thoughtful overview of the subject. In addition, there are areas with information about moon anomalies, crop circles, aliens, and much more.

The UFO casebook forum happens to be the place for the best and most intelligent UFO-related discussions. Their boards are absolutely flaming hot-it's where everyone goes to discuss the most controversial and current UFO cases and issues. An example: check out the ongoing discussions over there about the 'drone mystery.'

UFO Evidence
www.ufoevidence.org

The UFO Evidence website is a fantastic place to find the best UFO photographs, great articles, and UFO cases. The photographs are a central feature of the site, and it is a virtual repository of both historic and contemporary UFO image. Documentary narratives accompany most of the photos, and it is obvious a lot of research and care has gone into it. I have found extensive information attached to certain obscure photos that I have never seen in any other source. The photos are searchable and organized; they can be viewed in categories of decade, quality, or continent-or viewed from the full catalogue. Geek alert: It's addictive-plan on a couple hours.

The photographs aren't the only amazing feature of the UFO Evidence site. The home page has a regularly updated 'News and Features' section, and there are searchable, extensive case files, and well organized UFO topics and articles such as special types of sightings and cases, UFO researchers, humanoid sightings, Men in Black, U.S. Presidents and UFOs, government studies, and much, much more. UFO Evidence assumes its audience is educated and smart, and has an overall tone of sincerity; it is highly recommended.

UFO Mystic
www.ufomystic.com

This site differs from the above two in that it is not brimming over with case files and photographs. You won't find extensive searchable databases, but what you will find may be just as valuable and more interesting. UFO Mystic may be one of the web's best kept UFO secrets. It is the blogging site of the popular gen-x UFO writers Nick Redfern and Greg Bishop. (A note: Craig Woolheater is also listed as a blogger, but doesn't seem to be active here, although he blogs daily at Cryotmundo.com) Both Redfern and Bishop are respected and prolific writers-and they at the very hub of contemporary UFO thought and culture.

Although UFO Mystic is independent and professional, there is a very cozy feel that one usually only finds within the frames of friends' blogs. Both writers post blog entries daily; they also participate greatly within the blog commentary section. The blogs are searchable and categorized by topics including: breaking news, alien encounters, evidence, contactees, strange creatures, conspiracies, UFOs on film, and several others. The links, articles, thoughts and perspectives offered by these two UFO writers are invaluable.

Case Book is probably the best ufo website but ufocomet.com looks promising and given time might be the next top dog.
