Ingredients For Euro Cheese Dumplings

14oz Soft Goat's Cheese
6oz Semolina Flour
2oz Onion, grated
2oz Mascarpone
2 Eggs
2tbsp Butter
2tsp Kosher Salt

This recipe makes 16 dumplings, which will make a total of five or six servings.

It could not be easier to make this vegetarian Hanukkah recipe. In fact, it only takes 20 minutes to prepare.

Firstly, mix the cheese, mascarpone, onion and salt in a blender for a minute or so until the mixture is smooth. Add the eggs to the mixture and blend it again until you have a smooth paste. Finally, add the butter and blend for a few seconds before transferring the mixture to a large bowl.

When the mixture is in the bowl, add around half of the semolina flour and fold it in well. Add a little more of the flour at a time and continue to fold it until all of the flour has been added to the mixture and the dough is firm enough to hold together. When it reaches this stage, cover the dough in the bowl with a cloth and place it in the refrigerator. It should be left for at least 3 hours but preferably overnight, if you have the time.

When the dough has been left to stand, boil a litre of water with a tablespoon of salt a large saucepan. Whilst waiting for it to boil, moisten your hands and work the dough into ball of around 1.5 inches in diameter. As soon as this is done and the water is boiling, drop the balls into the water and reduce the heat to medium. Stir the water gently so they do not stick together. After about 15 minutes, all of the balls will rise the surface, at which point they are done!

After draining and serving the dumplings, you will find this one of the easiest vegetarian Hanukkah recipes to prepare and one of the tastiest! If you like a little spice then you can add a little black pepper or chilli powder into the mixture, but they are delicious without this too! Of all the vegetarian Hanukkah recipes out there, this will definitely delight your guests the most!
