Water parks are a great way to entertain the whole family on a long, hot summer day. Southern California is a great place to be if you are looking for top-notch water park action.

At Raging Waters in San Dimas, surfers can enjoy an endless wave on the Flowrider. This ride shoots over 36,000 gallons of water per minute under a rider as the rider practices spins, flips, and other crazy tricks. Another unique ride is the Dark Hole, the first two-person inner tube ride in the country. Raging Waters is open at 10 a.m. every day of the summer and closes as late as 7 p.m. on the weekends. Tickets are $34.99 for adults and $19.99 for the kids.

Irvine's premier water park, Wild Rivers, allows enthusiasts in for $31.98 for the adults and $19.99 for the kids. This water park opens its amazing rides at 11 a.m. and usually runs till 5 p.m. Wild Rivers presents a slide with a three-story drop called the Nairobi Express. A 655-foot journey through darkness with a fifty-foot drop can be found in The Abyss. Wild Rivers Water Park is full of many rides and thrills for the whole family.

In Los Angeles, Six Flags brings you a great water park with Hurricane Harbor. This water park features one of the wildest rides with Tornado, a four-person inner tube ride that whips you around a funnel. The Forgotten Sea is a man-made ocean featuring two-foot waves. Hurricane Harbor is one of the largest parks in the area and with admission at $29.99 for adults and $20.99 for children, it's a great deal of a water park. Hurricane Harbor opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. on most days.

Overlooking Lake Lopez, Mustang Waterslides is the bargain of the water parks featured with all-day admission for under twenty dollars. The hours at Mustang Waterslides run from 11 a.m. and usually closes at 5 p.m. This water park features two 600-foot water slides, three mini-slides, and two waterfall trees. The main attraction is The Stampede, a giant half-pipe with a 38-foot drop.

In Paso Robles, The Ravine will charge you around twenty dollars for admission to the water park. Featuring a drifting river ride in Kickback Kreek or a four-story spin slide in Vertigo, The Ravine rules the water park world. Hours at the park are from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
