Located within the Mt. Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, Splash Island Waterpark is an ideal water playground for the younger aged children. Designed to be safe for toddlers, Splash Island has something to amuse kids up to the pre-teen years. With a 200-foot waterslide, a 10-minute swirling water ride, geysers, waterfalls, otter slides and a recreational pool, Splash Island Waterpark will keep you and the youngsters refreshed during the heat of the summer. In addition to the water attractions, Splash Island has lifeguards on duty, longue chairs, concessions, restrooms with showers and locker rentals.

The Caribbean comes to James Island, SC. Splash Zone Waterpark is a tropical paradise with a 200-foot tube slide and a 200-foot open slide, a 500-foot lazy river with an 'adventure' option, a giant Caribbean themed play structure with wheels, sprays and slides, and a large leisure pool. In addition to the water fun, Splash Zone Waterpark offers concessions, longue chairs, restrooms with showers and locker rentals and more.

The largest of all the Charleston waterparks, Whirlin' Waters spreads over 15-acres. Designed for children of all ages, this waterpark will keep the family entertained the entire day. The Big Kahuna is a major attraction, with 27,000 square feet of various waves to play in. Multi-slide complexes at Whirlin' Waters include the Riptide Run, a 6-lane, 347-feet mat slide and the Tubular Twister, a 300-feet, 3 section slide. There are specific areas that cater to toddlers and kiddies as well. Amenities include on-duty lifeguards, longue chairs, concessions, gift shop, restrooms with showers and locker rentals.

Starting in May, Charleston County Waterparks are open on the weekends. Individually linked sites outline daily summer hours.
