The Best Wedding Advice I Received

Laura Ewers
I was married in March of 2008. I have been married for about a year now. During the planning, preparation, and finally the day of my wedding I received so much wedding advice. There are many that were very memorable to me. Such as what the pastor who preformed the wedding said (during on marriage counseling). However, the best advice I received was "Do what makes you happy" I do not remember who exactly said this however it applied to so many things. My wedding should have been "the best day of my life". However, it really ended up being an event for our families. Both my husband and I allowed things to happen at our wedding that we were not thrilled about, however because we wanted to make our families happy we did them anyway. I really wish we would have taken the advice we were given and done "what made us happy" however we didn't and our wedding was not as happy of a memory as it should be.

Please take my advice that was told to me and "do what makes you happy". Don't worry about what your families want, or other people in the end this is your day, you only get one chance so make it memorable and not something that every time you think about it you have regrets.

Advice: "do what makes you happy" - both the bride and the groom ONLY!!!
