So, how do you know which spas for weight loss are the best? Can you trust every weight loss spa to be effective and safe? Here are the best weight loss spas when it comes to proper diet, exercise, and overall health and safety concerns.
The Cooper Wellness Program is held at the Cooper Aerobics Center which is located in Dallas, TX. It was founded by Kenneth Cooper, M.D, who has been hailed as the founder of aerobics. This weight loss spa is centered on weight loss exercise, proper nutrition, and "healthy behaviors" to get people healthy and losing weight. People who join the Cooper Wellness Program are provided with three healthy chef-prepared meals every day as well as given a variety of different workouts to choose from such as kickboxing, resistance-band training, swimming, and cycling. They also have spa services which include aromatherapy massage, deep tissue massage, and green tea baths.
At this weight loss spa you can choose from a 2 day package and just stay the weekend or a 6 day package and stay the whole week. The 6 day program at Cooper Wellness costs $1,995 but does not include the cost of staying at the Cooper Guest Lodge. The 2 day program costs $695 and does include your stay at the Cooper Guest Lodge. Deposits are necessary to hold your spot.
The Heartland Spa is located on old dairy farm land in Gilman, IL, which is about 90 minutes away from Chicago. The weight loss spa offers a 2, 3, or 5 night package which includes your stay at the Country Manor which overlooks a 3-acre lake. They offer a wide variety of physical activities such as cardio kickboxing, Bosu workouts, swimming as well as yoga and Tai Chi. The program includes a nutrition plan with healthy foods for both women and men as men are allotted 1500 calories and women 1400 calories a day. Heartland Spa also includes specialty spa treatments such as a full body therapeutic massage, raindrop technique massage which includes special essential oils for the body, and several different types of facials.
Heartland Spa has a few different weight loss programs that you can choose from if you choose to take your weight loss vacation there. They base it off your sex and fitness level. They also offer special assessment tests and sessions you can add on to your program for things like assessing why a person overeats and a personal weight loss assessment with detailed tests. The cost of Heartland Spa ranges from approximately $400 for a two night stay to approximately $1800 for a five night stay.
Jimmy LeSage's New Life Hiking Spa is located at the Inn of the Six Mountains in Killington, VT. Although it is called a hiking spa that is not what this spa is all about. With the new Life Hiking Spa you enjoy your morning hike through the mountains and can return to a yoga class, a weight training workout, a massage or simply sit by the pool and enjoy the view. This weight loss spa is more of a back to nature and the basics rather than the frills of some other weight loss spas. Some people will like this type of spa while it may not be for others.
New Life Hiking Spa also offers healthy cooking lessons, wellness workshops, as well as individual counseling. They emphasize a diet that is based off whole foods rather than foods that are processed and contain additives. They have several different packages that you can choose from all the way from a 2 day stay that costs approximately $500 to an 11 day full weight loss program which costs approximately $2500. The prices include the rooms and meals as well as the hiking program and a certain amount of spa treatments.
These are just 3 of many weight loss spas that have been named "Best Spas" and "Best Weight Loss Programs" by magazines, or medical councils. These three weight loss spas can give you a comparison on what to look for in your weight loss vacation before you book your getaway.
