The Best New Year's Eve Parades and Events Delaware County, Pa

Delaware County, Pa Areas Fun for All Ages

Jennifer Bove
Delaware County, Pa in the year 2000 had an estimate of 550,864 people. It is indeed a very large county. It is made up of many townships, unincorporated communities and boroughs. Because of this, the list for local new year's eve events, really would appear endless. Each of these towns has their own little celebration, I won't list them all. I have listed two great events. For anyone in the area, please feel free to share your favorite New Year's Eve events and New Year's Day parades in your comments.

The Biggest New Year's Day Parade in the Area-Philadelphia, Pa

The Mummers parade is a tradition that many have enjoyed. This tradition which is nearly 110 years old now is attended by locals and people from all over. This magnificent parade is very, very packed, so be prepared. It is best not to drive to this New Year's Day Parade as many streets are closed. Driving and parking in Philadelphia can be unbearable even on a regular day. The great part is we have an amazing public transportation system that is easy to get to and will bring you exactly where you want to go. The amount of buses and El's are stepped up for the day to accommodate people as well. Most people prefer to be out on the street to watch this amazing New Year's Day parade, but if preferred, tickets are available for bleacher seating for $20.00 a piece. These tickets can be purchased by calling the phone number listed below. Street level standing/walking there is no admission price. Recommended is arriving very early as the sidewalks fill to capacity very early on. The spots most often taken first because they are the good spots are Broad Street and Sansom, Broad Street and Pine, Broad Street and Washington, Broad Street and Tasker, Broad Street and McKean, Broad Street and Ritner and Broad Street and Shunk.
