The Best Youtube Makeup Gurus of 2010

Kaitie Gin
Within the past decade, the beauty industry has exploded all over the Internet. Sites like Youtube are packed with beauty product "gurus"-every day women (and sometimes men) who offer opinions, advice, tips and tricks on everything beauty. These "gurus" have become so popular that Youtube has even hosted special summits and conventions for them! Whether you're a makeup veteran looking for a review on the latest products or a beauty newbie looking for a simple tutorial there's a beauty guru on Youtube for you!

If you're into nails...

If a great manicure tops your priority list check out sayanythingbr00ke's channel. She has all sorts of tips and tricks for taking care of your nails, not to mention some really snazzy (and not to mention easy) nail art tutorials. From sexy holographic nails to cute snowman designs she's got an idea for every holiday, season and occasion!

If you're into natural looks...

If you like to keep your makeup simple and versatile, then tune into MakeupByTiffanyD. Tiffany always has great suggestions for beautiful, wearable makeup looks that look complicated, but in reality are easy to pull off! Tiffany incorporates enough color and shine into her looks in ways that make them interesting, yet appropriate for every day. She is an especially great guru to subscribe to if you have acne prone or uneven skin, as she has a lot of skin care videos and foundation tutorials.

If you love to use bold colors...

If you want your makeup to make a statement, then look to xsparkage for inspiration. Leesha is known for using brightly colored pigments, false lashes and glitter in her bold looks. Don't feel threatened though, her channel appeals to a wide range of skill levels. Even her most advanced looks can be toned down or adapted for those less daring (or less confident in their skills).

If you're a bargain hunter...

If you're not one to drop a ton of cash at MAC or Sephora, then check out emilynoel83. Emily is known for using and reviewing many drugstore makeup brands. She has made many fabulous tutorials using only Covergirl, NYX, Revlon or other value brands. Once a year Emily does a series of videos known as "The Emily Awards" where she reviews her favorite high-end and low-end products of the year. In fact, before you purchase any drug store beauty product I suggest turning into Emily's channel-it's likely she's already reviewed it!

If you love hauls...

If you're favorite videos on Youtube are the ones where Gurus show off all the products they've purchased on a recent shopping spree (commonly known as "hauls") then you've got to subscribe to fashionismycrush. Jen usually does at least one haul video a week, and she always spends a significant amount of time swatching, describing and reviewing the products thoroughly. Her video quality is always very professional, so you can be sure that the colors you see in her videos are true to how they will appear in real life. If you do a lot of online shopping, then I suggest checking out her channel before making any beauty product purchases over the Internet. Chances are she's purchased a similar product ad her videos will give you a better idea of what to expect.
