The Bichon Frise Personality

The cute fluffy, white powder-puff dog with it's tail that curves up and around in a stylish plume of fur is not only known for it's beautiful looks, but also for it's very nice character. Each Bichon has their own individual personality. They are known to be playful and friendly. Bichon Frises are usually a non-aggressive breed.

Genetics, environment and training may affect the development of the Bichon's personality. Even though each individual Bichon has their own character and temperament, there are many positive character traits that Bichons are generally known to have in common. They may be sensitive and gentle. They usually love to be with their owner. Bichon Frises are also known to be intuitive and compassionate in nature.

Bichons may sense when something is wrong in the family and they may respond by trying to provide comfort, love and companionship. They may be very affectionate and cuddly. Bichons generally have an upbeat and perky personality.

Bichon Frises routinely adapt well to their environment. Bichons are fun-loving, sturdy dogs. They can live approximately 15 years or even 17 years. They prefer to be around people and they need human companionship.

Bichon Frises may have a high energy level, but exercise needs can be easily met with a daily walk or some playing in the yard. The Bichon Frise may possibly be predisposed to some allergies.

The Bichon's grooming needs may be considered high maintenance. They usually require some daily brushing to keep their beautiful coat in good shape. It is very common for the Bichon Frise to need grooming on a regular schedule.

And lastly, Bichon owners seem to really enjoy their Bichon Frise's smile. This dog actually loves to smile. Their owners feel it is a smile that expresses their happiness in life.
