And so is the consensus of those who were comfortable, fat and happy as long as they had a monopoly on the media, and they still outnumber Fox News 7-1, so why are people so threatened? Isn't there room for different points of view?
On most networks, Liberals are not challenged and Conservatives are either non-existent or greatly outnumbered. At least Fox News provides balance by allowing both Liberal and Conservative opinions.
Not only that, but Fox News isn't even conservative, but moderate; it only looks conservative because of the alternatives. In fact, employees of Fox News donate 81% of their contributions to Democrats.
Fox News, like other networks, employ commentators and some of those commentators are Conservative but they identify themselves as such. Commentators on other networks oftentimes cloak their political identities under the guise of neutrality, which is misleading.
Could it be that those who attack Fox News as being biased are merely projecting? After all, Democrats have the partisan assistance of the main-stream media (MSM). In addition, those in the MSM vote Democrat 90% of the time. For example, in the election of 2006, 77% of news coverage was positive towards Democrat's while a scant 12% was positive towards Republicans. That goes to show that an equitable media is an absolute farce, but people still point fingers at Fox News.
The MSM, quite often, will spin the news so hard that they screw themselves into the ground. It's amazing that those who bash Fox News have been all too happy to have the majority of the media, entertainment industry and academia on their sides but God forbid that one network gives every side a chance to be heard.
Thanks to the internet, the MSM are no longer the sole proprietors of information and they are just squirming in their seats about no longer having the predominate authority they once had, which is why Fox News intimidates them so.

Post a CommentThe so called "Liberal Media" is a conservative fantasy. Social conservatives feel threatened by reality and so have created this liberal conspiracy which helps them feel better. The so called liberal media never questioned George Bush's faith based headlong rush into Iraq. The "liberal media" were devoted to patriotism and so were fooled by Bush's lies and supported the Iraq war, the most disastrous foriegn policy mistake in over 200 years.
Great job Donna.
why do people feel the need to defend Fox News. It's fine to have an opinion - but call it what it is. And the need of some on the right to name call and bash instead of arguing the substance of the topic just proves that they aren't that bright.
Liberal dums have trouble winning an argument, when both sides of an issue are aired.
First off, Fox IS PART OF the main stream media. Second off, Fox is not fair and balanced. They've edited clips to ruin the context (Hannity did this with Obama, and with the anti-health care rally, which showed clips from the 9/12 project), their polls have added up to 120%, Newscorp (they own Fox) donated $1million to the Republicans (and not to the democrats). How can Fox be fair and balanced if they openly support a conservative movement (the tea party)? MSNBC doesn't even support a liberal movement. Fox also made up the acorn scandal (Acorn has be acquitted of all crimes) and the Shirley Shirod [not sure if I spelt that right] scandal by, once again, playing a clip out of context. The daily show is a better source of news than Faux Noise
What you say about the comparison is true, Donna. All the networks, including the various forms of NBC (MSNBC,CNN,CNBC) are traditionally liberal and next to them, Mao's Little Red Book looks like a right-wing publication. But seriously, aside from pundits like Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck, etc.) Fox does highly factual reporting about events which are handled as fluff pieces by ABC, CBS, and NBC. Fox has old tough-style reporters like Major Garrett and Carl Cameron, and the way Sam Donaldson used to be on ABC.
The left & apparently Scott cannot handle the truth. FOX news may have more conservative pundits than any other network..but they are the only current network that lives up to the promo line, Fair & Balanced. Good report here Donna.
Great article! So true.
It never ceases to amaze me that some people's worldviews are so shockingly slanted that they can't see Fox News is just as far right as MSNBC is left. Anyone who's not willing to admit at least that much shouldn't even be allowed to participate in a discussion about the subject, because you're so out of touch with reality it's not even funny.
Great article. I agree with your assessment! Unfortunately Obama and his government will not be happy until all news outlets are singing his praises. And if they don't all worship Obama, He will try to impose the Fairness Doctrine to make it so. Which sounds exactly how things are done in the country where I live, China. I hope the people wake up before this happens!!
