The Biggest Loser - Many Surprises for the New Season

The Biggest Loser's new season started off with a lot of big surprises on Septemeber 11, 2007. 18 contestants were very surpised to find that Alison Sweeney (she plays the character Sami on Days of Our Lives) would be their host! It turns out she has been a fan of the show for a long time and was really excited to host the show.

Team captians were chosen by a foot race across sand. Running on sand is no easy feat, even for the fittest of people. The captains chose their teams,
5 on each team, and then sent the remainder of the contestants on their way.

The big surprise was that the ones who were sent "home" were actually sent to train with Jillian Michaels - making a third team that no one knows about. She is working them hard, fast and furious! We'll get to see how they stack up against the other teams later. What will be fun is seeing the shock and surprise of the other teams when this "secret" team is later sprung on them!

In the meantime, the red team won the first competition, hauling all their baggage, and the PLANE IT WAS IN, across the finish line. Their reward was letters from home. Just winning the competition was very gratifying to them, but the letters from home made them all the more inspired.

In the end, it was the blue team who lost the most weight, so the red team had to eliminate someone. They chose Amber. She had a really good attitude about it, though. It was sad to see her go, but it will be interesting to see what she does on her own.

This season has the ingredients to the best one yet for this show. A lot of surprises to the host to the surprise third team. And a lot of interesting people and challenges. Definitely a lot of inspiration for all the rest of us.
