Starting your own affiliate business is not as hard as some would have you to believe. You should start by building your own list. Put some time, effort and money into driving targeted traffic to your website. The more visitors you can get to your website, the more money you could potentially make. Never underestimate the power of having your own customer list. You should spend most of time building your list and driving traffic to your site.
The best way to start building your list is to use a lead-capture page. Your lead capture page should focus on the main benefits of your product. In my opinion, your headline should be the strongest part of your page because this will get them to continue reading. Highlight and include bullet points about the benefits of your products or services. If your message is convincing enough, you should have no problem getting them to enter their name and email address in your opt in form.
Another way to get subscribers is to give away something of value for free. You can also create a newsletter to get even more subscribers. You should also be sure to sign up with a good autoresponder service. There are two reasons for this. The first one is, after you create your opt in form for your lead capture page, you can assign a website that you want your potential customers to be redirected to. This should be the affiliate program or service you are promoting. The second reason is that you will need to follow up with your subscribers by sending out your newsletter and selling even more products and services on the back end.
These methods will be very valuable to you in the future because you are building your own customer base and a direct marketing business at the same time.
Once you start to see profits, reinvest in your business. When you make a sale, pay yourself on the back! Take some of the profits and do something enjoyable for yourself. But your goal should be to always grow your business by setting up new pay-per-click campaigns, purchasing more ezine advertising and using as many methods you can think of to get traffic to your website. You can also buy a product with resale rights and by using this method; you can keep all the profits.
Keep marketing to your list and presenting them with good valuable information. Be on the lookout for new products and services. As you find them, write a new email series for your autoresponder and continue to promote to your list. Some people will enjoy what you have to offer and others will unsubscribe, but if you're focused on building your list you will always have new subscribers joining your list to make up for those that unsubscribe.
If you follow these techniques, your affiliate business will grow into a very profitable direct marketing business in no time.
