The Bitch Complex! Did 'Pia Toscano' Get Snubbed by the Pretty Girls of America?

The Bitch Complex

On April 7th, 2011 pretty brunette '˜Pia Toscano' was voted off '˜American Idol' and apparently America was shocked! Well, the judges were shocked anyway; at least that's what they said. But on reflection should they really have been so perturbed by the events as they played out. This year seems to be particularly harsh on the pretty girls, and it surely can't be a coincidence that there are now only (2) girl's left: The attractive but not conventionally beautiful '˜Haley Reinhart' and '˜Lauren Alaina'.

Many hypotheses may be put forward for why this is and mine would the '˜Bitch Complex'.
So let me explain. Pretty girls do not vote for pretty girls. Not unless they're related - OR '" and I think this is quite important '" they are from a fiercely loyal group. That is to say Country girls might (possibly) vote for Country girls, aka: the undeniably pretty '˜Carrie Underwood' in previous years, but it doesn't appear that Latina girls are all that supportive of their perhaps '˜prettier' womenfolk.
What a terribly sexist thing to say you may think. But I believe it's exactly sexism that caught this particular beau unawares. I imagine sullen pretty girls across the country snubbing the pretty girl on T.V. en-mass. Has no-one seen '˜Clueless' or '˜Mean Girls'. It's a complex that suggests that pretty girls don't like hanging out with other pretty girls, so that they shine just a little bit brighter by comparison. Whilst ugly girls (my apologies to ugly girls everywhere) won't vote for her because she's pretty.
As for guys, well guys don't give a '˜you know what' '" they won't vote anyway.

There was a recent story about a young girl who was attacked and beaten by a group of girls for what she was wearing. Her general look. Without having seen the video I was able to '˜Deduce' that the young girl in question would almost certainly be pretty. I was right. At least she was prettier than the gorillas (see assailants) that were revealed from the video surveillance cameras in the store. I was proved correct. From one of the attacker's mug shots it was obvious that the attacker had hit every branch of the ugly tree on her way to the bottom, and that said tree probably didn't survive her fall either.
Steven Tyler mentioned that '˜guys don't vote and girls are jealous', and I'm of the opinion that he's spot on. I myself am a man '" I have a penis and everything and I have '˜NEVER' '˜N.E.V.E.R!' voted for anyone on American Idol. I wouldn't vote to save Jesus from the Cross. It's just a guy thing. My wife on the other hand '" she's the one with the vagina '" votes multiple times for multiple people. She says '˜Pia' gets on her nerves a bit with the way she holds the microphone. Could it be that she is denying the '˜Bitch Complex'. Hmmmm, I daren't bring this up for fear of being '˜Bitch'- slapped by my better half.

Of course there are other factors that should be considered.
The often cited '˜I think she's safe' complex, wherein people are so convinced that a particular contestant is a shoe-in to move forward that no-one votes for them.
There is also the possibility, and one that could destroy forever my admittedly brilliant '˜Bitch Complex' hypothesis that people just found her boring, unoriginal and lacking in personality. Her voice is strong, but her moves are contrived and her personality is -- ..well, you know '" she's pretty.
It's also a tough year. Everyone has good voices this year, with the possible exception of '˜Paul McDonald' who sounds like he's singing from his respirator through a helium balloon.

The World continues to turn and we will all continue to watch '˜American Idol' despite convictions from some people across the country that they will never watch it again. But those pretty girls '" they can be Bitches!
