The Bizarre Commonwealth Games with Monkeys as Security Guards

The Strangest Commonwealth Games Ever Now with Trained Monkeys on Guard

According to the Daily Telegraph in the UK, groups of trained Langur Monkeys are being used by the organizers of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi to help prevent the accommodation provided for the athletes who are competing as well as the stadiums from being overrun by wild animals.

The Langur Monkeys are very intelligent and also aggressive, and with the problems experienced in India recently with stray animals entering the city areas, added to by the heaviest monsoon rains for over 30 years, these are thought to be the best way to help protect the athletes and spectators at the games from being hurt.

One athlete from South Africa has already had a nasty scare, when he found a deadly cobra in his room. The rains from the monsoon are unfortunately causing a lot of snakes to move to higher ground, and what better than the high rise apartments that have been built for the athletes.

Another problem has been packs of wild monkeys that have been creating a nuisance by stealing food and also attacking humans. Once the Commonwealth Games begin, people who are in new Delhi to see the games do not want to have to run the risk of being attacked by monkeys, who are well known to steal not only food but shiny objects such as jewelery.

With the Commonwealth Games due to start this weekend, officials are hoping that the extraordinary measures that they have put into place will be enough to ensure the safety of everyone who takes part in the events.

I hope not. With stories of packs of monkeys and dogs running wild, and monkeys known for not being afraid to grab anything, whether it's jewelery or food, you never know. It's all good ammunition for the media to report on of course, and hopefully nothing bad will happen, so that India can turn around and say it was a successful games.

All this is Nonsense Stuff. Since CWG village is right next to River Yamuna bed, some Simians are bound to cross over as Animals' don't follow man-made boundaries but r they not being managed, no they are being. Rest assured, u r not going to hear of a single monkey bite.
