Mr. Fleming said, "I do think that I am liberating them [the children]." He thinks that raising your child in a Christian home and teaching them Christian values is "psychological torture" and possibly "child abuse".
The Blasphemy Challenge
Children are asked to video themselves blaspheming and submit it to YouTube. Once they do this, they will receive a DVD entitled "The God Who Wasn't There". You can read more about this movie at www.thegodmovie.com. Full instructions for participating in The Blasphemy Challenge are:
From the website, www.blasphemychallenge.com: "You may damn yourself to Hell however you would like, but somewhere in your video you must say this phrase: "I deny the Holy Spirit."
Why? Because, according to Mark 3:29 in the Holy Bible, "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." Jesus will forgive you for just about anything, but he won't forgive you for denying the existence of the Holy Spirit. Ever. This is a one-way road you're taking here.
Once you have shot your blasphemous video, just follow these two easy steps:
1. Go to this link on YouTube to upload your video as a "Video Response" to the Blasphemy Challenge. (You can log in or register on that page if necessary.) Please put the URL http://www.blasphemychallenge.com somewhere in the text description when you upload your video.
2. When the video appears on YouTube, send the URL to this email address: waronchristmas@hotmail.com. Also include a complete United States mailing address* so we can send your free copy of The God Who Wasn't There.
That's it. We're only giving away 1001 DVDs, so blaspheme now.
The Blasphemy Challenge's Mission
Brian Fleming is an atheist on a mission. He says, "These kids are not being left alone... a religious indoctrination is being visited upon these kids against their will." Mr. Fleming thinks he must free children from "the mental torture that is religion".
You can find out more about Brian Fleming by visiting his blog at www.slumdance.com/blogs/brian_flemming. You can also see a video clip of Mr. Fleming being interviewed on Fox News Channel by John Kasich. More information about Brian Fleming can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Flemming and http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0281830.
The War on Christmas
Additionally, for those of you wondering if there really was a War on Christmas, you can pop by another supporter of The Blasphemy Challenge at www.endchristmas.com.
"Bill O'Reilly and the Religious right have been saying for a few years now that there is a War on Christmas, by espousing such ridiculous views as "The cashier at Target didn't say Merry Christmas" so there must be a War on Christmas. We've decided to show them what an actual War on Christmas might look like. EndChristmas.com is here because we support the so-called War on Christmas."
Defend Your God
If you feel you have what it takes to defend your God, why not accept this challenge from The Rational Response Team:
"Think you can show why your belief in a God is rational? We are now accepting requests from theists to talk to us on our show. Visit www.rationalresponders.com for more information."

Post a CommentIt is sad to see such shallow thinking. No depth-dimension at all. The whole business of spirituality posits that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in your philosophy. The sad arrogance of those who airily dismiss any transcendental dimension is the chief reason why this poor planet is falling apart. The absolute idiocy of so-called “rational" thinking has led to the corruption of our food supply, our water supply, even the air we breathe. How enormously clever we are to play with fossil fuels and destroy the Gulf of Mexico! to play with nuclear power and destroy Japan! The miserable incompetence of those who claim to be “rational thinkers" is breath-bereaving! Rationally-speaking, love is a fallacy; and yet it is a determinant of our existence. Please, for the sake of the planet, THINK! Consider putting others before yourself. The world is dying of selfishness.
Atheists and agnostics are right in most of their thinking
It has been common among religious believers to look with misgiving at atheists and agnostics, and to think that they are mistaken; however, in many instances the opposite is the truth; some religious beliefs are not just baseless, but obsolete and irrelevant. It is unbelievable how myths and a religious fantasy have influenced human minds with more strength than reality!
Most people don't dare to confront their religious doubts; they are afraid of abandoning the "certainty" of their convictions, and opt for the status quo. The "God" of main line traditions simply does not exist. I accepted the challenge of finding the One who may be recognized even by agnostics and atheists, and came to the conclusion that God isn't other than the Existence itself; and the Existence is, "I am," the total existence, "All-That-Is." There is probably a single issue in which I do not agree with atheists: I believe that "there is no effect w
I see this as a bad idea. Evangelism of any kind, religious or otherwise is offensive and rude. If this guy starts going into children's hospital rooms to convert children without parents' permission - then he should be treated just like we treat Christians who do that. Oops, there's no repercussions against Christian evangelists.
I think it's meant as satire - to get people to see how awful evangelism actually is. How about this - some Christian group should offer the cessation of evangelism of their religion if he ceases evangelizing a non-belief?
This is just horrible. Why that man is so bitter I have no idea. It seems he has an agenda. Most Agnostics/Atheists do not.
I think you're unfortunate proof that Christianity is, in fact, psychological torture and child abuse. You're showing classic symptoms of a brainwashing victim. You can't get away from the beliefs which have been instilled in you since childhood to be able to see it from anybody else's point of view. That's too bad. Fear is a terrible thing. Nobody has the right to use it to control a child. The fact is that children universally reject these ideas when introduced to them after the age of reason, because they make no sense.
I feel a bit of hopelessness when trying to talk about the REAL world with a christian who probably was brainwashed from day one by their cowardly parents. Facts are the biggest hurdle for religion not atheists. If a god is so grand then why not let god "find" their kids when they're a little older? It should be illegal to brainwash children no matter how far back the brainwashing goes in that family. We could be a great people if we could get over ourselves and the idea that we're more than what we are. I'm special without your weak-ass belief and a bit tired at my age of trying to talk facts to sheep who do not speak my language (TRUTH).
and for TAW, you can see wind (just because air particles are microscopic, don't rule them out) and even though you can measure love physioligically, you can't "see" it because it is an emotion. And there is no verifiable way to ensure that tommorrow exists. It may well not. The scientific mind searches for explanations, the religious mind shuns them and prefers dogma. And about the "unforgivable sin" just one more thing wrong with the "god" of christianity...a person could be responsible for the deaths of millions...Hitler, Stalin, Pot, and Bush can be forgiven and get eternal life, yet the person making a video is damned to eternal torture..that's why I say I don't know if god exists or not, but I hope not, because if he does, we are all doomed eventually...
ok, I checked out the website and contrary to what many seem to believe, it is not just for "children." I saw a wide range of ages. But when you get right down to it, it isn't harming anyone, it's just an excercise in mythology...and to those who like to rail on atheists...there is no more "moral" person than the atheist who lives well not out of hope of an eternal reward or fear of an eternal damnation, but because he or she desires to be a good human...
TAW - you make some interesting points... In a sense I agree with you that God is not made up of anything we can find "evidence" of etc... But that's just it. God Almighty is above any human weakness, and considering the universe as a whole, with more stars than grains of sand on earth - many with planetary systems - it is impossible to "sin" against stuch a greatness of mind as God. And to suggest that our little primitive lives can 'sin' against God diminishes Gods greatness. We are here to learn and grow, not be judged for what we do... "Judgement", "right" and "wrong" are all man-made concepts and we need them to have a working society. But that doesn't mean God works that way...We've made him in our image, not the other way around.
I agree I could have written a better article, but I tried to just report the "facts" so you could read and you could decide. This was submitted as a news article, not an opinion article. Unfortunately, some of my formatting was lost in transition, so the c&p that was indented and set apart appears to be part of my writing, when it's not. My concern, which is not stated in the article, is that this man is manipulating children to his own ends without a real care for their wellbeing.
