He knew that The Peacekeepers were working overtime to keep the peace in the main area of Abria. And surprising enough the Innocents were starting to band together and help The Peacekeepers where they could.
The merchants were starting to take pride in there shop fronts again, and there had even been groups of youths who had taken to sweeping and cleaning up the streets. Since this had started to take place there had been less violence in these areas.
Corbin, Airdres's crow companion landed on his shoulder and gave him a soothing head rub with his beak and head. "
It will work out, you will see, Tashaka will have the city in order in no time, after all she is the chosen one."
Airdres had to smile at the utmost confidence in his friend's voice; it was nice to know that he wasn't the only one who had confidence in Tashaka's abilities as the chosen one, and her ability to lead groups of Peacekeepers.
Tashaka was the only female that had taken his breath away, and she was the ONE female he could not have, because he was the leader of his flock and she was the leader of all races.
Corbin gave an irritated flap of his wings again as his friends thoughts drifted back to his mopping gooey thoughts of the one perfect night, how gross! It almost made Corbin sick. It was such uncrow like behavior.
A piercing scream penetrated the quiet of the Crows Nest.
Corbin took to the air at the same time Airdres shifted to crow form and he to took to the air. They both zeroed in on where the scream had come form.
Both Corbin and Airdres let out a relived breath when they realized it had only been Corneille giving birth to her baby. This time there was a lot of blood, but for a totally different reason. Instead of a life leaving the world it was a life coming into the world.
It lightened the heart to know that young Brangwen had come when Airdres need something to brighten his life. He would be forever grateful that Brangwen decided to be born when she did. It gave him hope, hope that the Crows would make it though the blood shed and come out the other side survivors.
