The Bloom Box Personal Power Plant Bloom Energy

Bloom Box Energy as Seen on 60 Minutes

Marie M. Daniels
The Bloom Box recently seen on a 60 Minutes invented by NASA scientist K.R. Sridhar. This Bloombox is a small handheld energy fuel cell that can work as a personal power plant for your home. The Bloom Box power fuel cell works on oxygen and fuel, it is clean, green power and could be the next big thing.

What Makes the Boom Box Technology Different?
The Bloom Box was originally created to produce oxygen on Mars. Then NASA decided they did not have the funds to continue with that project K.R. Sridhar had an idea for the energy fuel cells. Instead of making oxygen he used oxygen as a fuel and the results are promising. Fuel cell energy has been around for a while with no realistic results. Many of the previous fuel cells could only run on expensive fuels or the materials to make the cells were expensive.

Bloom Box Energy - Power Plant in a Tiny Box
Well Mr. Sridhar has found a way to make the Bloom Box energy cells cheaper so that he hopes they will replace the normal energy power plants. He believes that in five to ten years the Bloom Boxes will be available for $3,000 and that everyone will be able to buy them. K.R. Sridhar held two little Bloom Boxes in his hands and said it was all that was needed to power a normal American home. Some skeptics think that the Bloombox energy fuel cells may not even come to pass or that the bigger energy companies will come out with their own version to sell to current customers.

There are some big name companies testing out the Bloom Boxes right now. Because the Bloom Box energy is green and it takes up less room than solar power panel's and big business is interested. Anything that is green and cheaper than current energy systems can save these businesses money outright and then on taxes. Some of the businesses that are currently testing the Bloom Box energy system are: eBay, Google and FedEx.

Before the 60 Minutes interview the Bloom Box makers K.R. Sridhar and Bloom Energy were very secretive about their new energy boxes. They have only a simple website set up where you can watch a short video but it does nothing to describe what they do or what they are working on. K.R. Sridhar's offices do not even have a name on the front of the buildings. As you can imagine though any new breakthroughs in the energy department must be kept quiet because of fierce competition.

There is much buzz about the Bloom Box and therefore the Bloom Energy Company because of the 60 Minutes interview. Now people want to know what the Bloom Energy stock symbol is so they can get in on the ground floor of this new energy powerhouse. Currently there does not seem to be any stock options for the Bloom Energy Company. There is speculation that the company will go public on Wednesday February, 24 because of the countdown timer on their website.

Who would have thought that one day we could power our entire homes with small hand held Bloom Box's and that they would be green energy without emissions. These Bloom Box's would be a great option to overcome running on nuclear energy and energy that leaves a huge carbon footprint.
