The Blue Moon's menu offers something for everyone. They are well known for the myriad of vegetarian dishes they offer, but the omnivores among us can find tasty choices as well. In addition, they have recently begun serving vegan breakfasts on the weekends. Their menu features such yummy delights as crab melts, a truly scrumptious taco salad, and my personal favorite, the Buffalo Girl. This sandwich features buffalo tenders on a Kaiser roll, topped with blue cheese dressing, lettuce, and tomato. I however, personalize mine with ranch instead of blue cheese, no lettuce, no tomato. The great servers there remember this every time!
Blue Moon has a truly unique atmosphere. The solarium is a wonderful dining room with large windows overlooking the town, or in fine weather, one can choose to eat outdoors on the patio. Local art often adorns the walls, and the servers are casually dressed, with just the right amount of eccentricity. Rock and roll generally plays on the radio, varying with personal tastes of the cooks and servers. Blue glass bottles adorn the walls, each unique and adding to the originality they restaurant projects. Ladies, be sure to check out the ladies room for a beautiful hand painted mural.
A visit to the Blue Moon wouldn't be complete without desert. They offer ice cream shipped in from a local creamery, molten lava chocolate cake, and baklava, among many other tasty temptations. One can often find students and local children alike wandering in the cafe for their daily sweet treat. While your children eat their dessert, be sure to let them play with one of the many board games that are found on the counter, just waiting to be used by patrons. You could also pick out a book from the rotating free library. Books are donated, then find new homes with restaurant patrons.
On your way out, be sure to check out the bulletin boards in the entryway. This is a great way to keep a finger on the pulse of Shepherdstown events. The board features everything from local bands to vegetable co - ops, all with a friendly, small town appeal. Looking for a yoga teacher or music lessons? Look no further!
As you're passing through Shepherdstown from Maryland or West Virginia, be sure to stop at the Blue Moon Cafe for a truly unique dining experience.

This sounds wonderful. My boyfriend and I are both vegetarian and moving to Martinsburg, WV which is only about 10 miles away, so we'll def have to give Blue Moon Cafe a try!
