Laura Garza's Disappearance
The pretty and petite Mexican American was last seen on December 3, 2008 leaving the Marquee Nightclub in New York City. The Marquee bills itself as the "quintessential ultra lounge". The club is often frequented by celebrities, and New York City's elite. Surveillance cameras captured Laura Garza dancing for two hours with twenty-three-year-old Michael Mele. Garza was seen leaving the club with Mele and another young man at 4:00 a.m... The pretty brunette was never seen again.
Who Is Laura Garza?
Laura Garza was a twenty-five-year-old Mexican native from Texas. She had moved to New York City just five months before her disappearance and according to reports was employed by Payless Shoe Source. According to reports, it appears that Laura Garza had just met Michael Mele that evening while at the Marquee.
Michael Mele's Sinister Past
Laura Garza apparently was unaware that the twenty-three-year-old Mele was a registered sex offender. According to reports, Mele had been convicted of four sex offenses and assaults. Reports also say that he had a history of assaulting women in open shopping mall parking lots. Mele, who is the son of a retired Assistant Deputy Police chief William Mele, is currently in jail on a parole offense. Mele was questioned shortly after Garza's disappearance was discovered. While he has not yet been charged in regards to Laura Garza's disappearance he is considered a "person of interest" in the disappearance.
The cause of death has not yet been released to media sources. Our condolences go out to the family of Laura Garza.

Michael Mele lives just 15 minutes from us in Middletown. This has been front-page news here as her family has searched diligently for her since her disappearance. It is so tragic. cheers for the report.
That's very sad.
Scary story.
Truly sad but at least they know that she is no longer alive.
