The Body Shop Vitamen E Toner

Are All Toners Created Equal?

The Body Shop-Vitamen E Hydrating Toner This is the normal skin toner from the body shop. After dismal results with the Aloe calming toner I decided to up the toner and try the Vitamen E toner.

This toner apparently has Vitamen E and Wheat germ which are supposed to protect against free radicals, is a natural anti-aging compound and also is a great moisturizer. Some toner by the sounds of it right? Well for $12.00 for 200ml or 6.75 ounces of toner one would hope that it would have done a more thorough job and had a more pleasant smell and ingredients.

The Body shop says this their best all around toner and it is fitted for most facial types that are normal or only oily in the t-zone. They also claim this is one of their gentle lines of toners, cleansers, and lotions.

So you can imagine our dismay when I see Caster oil and Benzyl Alcohol on the list of ingredients. Things that are not so great for the skin, are supposed to be avoided by pregnant and nursing women, and are definatley not something sensitive skin finds soothing or reduces redness or acne.

I did go ahead and try this toner and noticed that while it professed to be nondrying and even moisutrizing it was in fact the opposite. The toner left my skin dry, and feeling tight in places.

It did remove some excess grime that the cleanser missed but as far as removing the last drop of grime and moisturizing I didn't feel any of that at all.

The scent of this toner was much improved that the last toner I tried ( Aloe Calming toner). Although the scent was still fantly strong and left much to be desired it was soft and not overbearing .I would rate this toner a 3 out of 5 because it did remove some makeup by cleanser missed and did have a faintly pleasant scent.

However hydration could be improved and the Benzyl Alchohol surprized me. Basically this toner is middle of the road, its not bad, its not great, but in my ground level opinion it isn't work $12.00 either.

wow. I have no idea?! I would say you would have to talk to your doctor. I am no doctor or dermatologist and the only thing I know I kept off my face when I was pregnant was Castor oil and Beta and Alpha Hydroxy acids. Again, this seems a question best suited for a doctor on your next checkup. Good luck and congratulations!
