Although Bohemian is far from new, the latest fall fashions are a unique combination of retro looks, ethnic culture, and all new trends. The hottest looks for Fall 2005 include peasant skirts, long and often tiered skirts in solids or bright prints that catch the eye. Look for fuller skirts and longer hemlines on peasant skirts. Top the peasant skirts or decorated jeans with a tunic style top or romantic blouses that resemble the peasant blouses of earlier years. Tunics are straight and spare while romantic blouses run toward looser fits, puff or capped sleeves and/or ruffles. Add an embroidered or otherwise decorated vest for a full Bohemian style. Slide feet into jeweled slipper like shoes or rugged boots to complete the look.
For the ladies who prefer pants to skirts, Gauchos are back. More than just another Capri lenegth jean or trouser, gauchos - popular in the 1980's - are back. These wide-legged crops are sometimes called a split skirt but this season, they're back with new style that fits the Bohemian look with perfection.
Fringe is in - from fringed jeans and vests to hats and more. Wrap a fringed shawl around the shoulders or tie the same around the waist to accent the style. Accent the Boho look with wooden jewelry with an African look or Old World wood carved styles. Ethnic jewelry that reflects Native American styles, retro styles, or European flair is also hot for fall. Earrings made like dream catchers are haute coutre this season along with anything else that reaches into another culture for the look.
The layered look is back with blouse, peasant skirt, gauchos, or embellished jeans topped with vest or shawl. When the weather permits, try a blouse beneath a hand woven sweater from the Aran Isles or a leather vest for a touch of Southwestern style. Colors are rich earth tones or vivid bright shades.
Swing bobs are the style for short hair Boho gals. This new take on the classic short bob 'do makes straight hair swing with a toss of the head. Long haired ladies can let their locks hang free, in curls or in straight silk lines. Choose fall cosmetics in shades that compliment the Bohemian look or go au naturale.
Think ethnic, think eccentric, think Greenwich Village mod and go Bohemian for the fall!
