The Borderline of Love

A.M. Morgan
Apologies no longer mean repentance

Each day remains the same

Continued carelessness has caused no joy just more pain

Eyes lie to pretend that nothing has changed

Love has been taken for granted

A shaky relationship remains

One person may choose to forgive

But the memory still remains

Words cut deep so be careful what you give

It may not matter to you now

But one day it will

Saying anything to be right

Is simply out of spite

The truth is lost somewhere in between

Believe it or not

You should care

Because if you don't

Sooner or later

Your true love may not be there

This is so true. Words can hurt as much as a punch, and as we witnessed in that tragic story about MySpace and a young lady's suicide, deadly as well.

So True, we have to be mindful or our words and be slow to speak, quick to hear, and slow to get angry....we may be able to salvage and rebuild

Very good reflection on love and relationship-the first line about apology is sad but true-a commentary not only of some relationships but of what apology in general has come to mean today. I also wanted to mention that I saw your comment on Gary Davis' poem "Pondering" (I think May 3 or 6). Your comment was
"I am finding that many truths I held dearly were actually filled with misconceptions." I think realizing (what you said) and admitting that we may not have all the answers is called maturity-not getting old-just growing and becoming wiser. It has happened to most of us-sadly some people never quite get there-they continue to think all of their "truths" are infallible and that they have all of the answers-then they wonder why the rest of us try to avoid them.

Great write. very true. Words can hurt more than any physical abuse and they continue to ring out no matter how many times you push them in the back of your mind
