The Boston Celtics Rebirth?

The Boston Celtics are heading in the right direction since the Larry Bird Era. Kevin Garnett is departing the Minnesota Timberwolves after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the All-Star forward in a multiplayer trade with the Timberwolves. Kevin Garnett, 31 years old, has spent all of his 12 NBA seasons with the Timberwolves. For accepting this trade he will get his contract reworked with more years added on, and more money.

The teams still had some things to clarify with the players contracts, but that won't keep the Boston Celtics from Acquiring Kevin Garnett. Also there might be a chance in players that the Minnesota Timberwolves receive.

Last month during the NBA draft the Boston Celtics also acquired All-Star Guard Ray Allen from the Seattle Super Sonics. The Celtics acquired Ray Allen and the 35th pick in the draft for guards Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and forward Jeff Green of Georgetown, of which they had drafted with the fifth pick of the NBA draft.

Some of the players who could be headed to the Minnesota Timberwolves are forward Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green and Theo Ratliff. It is being reported that the Timberwolves would also get at least one draft choice. It took Danny Ainge a few years to do something to try and improve the Boston Celtics and he did it in a big way this off season. From a money stand point, for the most part you have to spend big money to win. Plus now Boston Celtics won't have any problem at all selling tickets and merchandise, to bring back in revenue for shelling out all this cash this off season.

With Paul Pierce on the bus they will be instant contenders in the weak Eastern Conference. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett are going to be on the decline very soon, and if they are going to win a championship they had better do so very quickly, Kevin Garnett was held hostage on the Timberwolves for over 10 years, with the promise of giving him some help, but they failed to ever deliver that promise. With this team in place, he might just get what he's been aiming for, for all of these years, and well deserved.

With all three superstars aging, hopefully they can bring back the glory to the once praised Boston Celtics of the 80's before they lose their nucleus.
