The Boys of "Saved by the Bell": Where Are They Now?

What are Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez and Dustin Diamond Doing Now?

Every high school had them, or everyone at least wished their school did. The three boys of "Saved By the Bell" are forever endeared in anyone that went through teenage angst. The hunky jock, the charming bad boy and the adorable nerd made the late eighties and early nineties accept that friendships could bridge the stereotypical cliques that ruled the hallways and society was better for that epiphany. But what is Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario López and Dustin Diamond doing these days? Where are they now?

What Mark Paul Gosselaar "Zack Morris" is Doing Now
Those blonde locks and that mischievous smile made every good girl's heart melt and every bad girl's mouth drool at Bayside High School. The proverbial bad boy with a heart of gold had eyes for every skirt that walked by but his soul only held one girl. If girls ever wanted to be captain of the cheerleaders, it was only magnified by his main attraction, Kelly Kapowski played by Tiffani Thiessen. Since the show ended in 1993, with the climax of the two high school sweethearts getting married in the spin-off " "Saved by the Bell: The College Years", he appeared in the TV movies "For the Love of Nancy" and "Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas" both in 1994, "She Cried No" in 1996, "Dying to Belong" and "Born into Exile" in 1997, "The Princess & the Marine" in 2001 and "Atomic Twister" in 2004. The most popular role he has had was as a bad boy detective John Clark in "NYPD Blue". His film credits include " Dead Man on Campus" back in 1998 and he recently poked his head back into view with the movie "Commander in Chief" in 2005.

What Mario López "A.C Slater" is Doing Now
Finding out the "A.C." stood for "Albert Clifford" didn't take nothing away from the army brat with the muscular physique. At first he seemed self-absorbed and egotistic, trying to vie for the affections of Kelly against Zack. The more you got to know his past and his true personality, the more you realized that you can't judge a book by its cover. Whether he was flexing for the drooling girls at Bayside High School or trying his best to nix his macho attitude for his girlfriend Jessie Spano (played by Elizabeth Berkley), this "Saved By the Bell" hunk won the affection of teen girls across the nation with a heart as big as his muscles. Since the show he has appeared in the TV series "Pacific Blue" in 1996 and the movies "Depraved" in 1996 and "Eastside" in 1999. He has also hosted different shows such as "Name Your Adventure" in 1993, "The Other Half" in 2001 and "Pet Star" in 2003.

What Dustin Diamond "Screech" is Doing Now
His real name on the series was "Samuel Powers," the lovable nerd that you just wanted to take home. He proved to straight A students everywhere that you could be best friends with the most popular people in school and not have to do their homework to be so. In one episode he even gained the heart of the head cheerleader of Bayside herself, Kelly Kapowski, (Zack's main squeeze) and actually turned her down because they had nothing in common. Since "Saved By the Bell" ended, he has made no notable appearances on TV or film and instead took the path of a stand-up comedian. His greatest accomplishment was starting the "Dustin Diamond Foundation" with his wife, which supports organizations that specialize in child care. It may not be walking the red carpet but it speaks volumes for what he is doing now. It also shows that even if every nerd isn't running the world, maybe they should be.

Mark played a lawyer on a TNT drama last year. I don't know if it's coming back. Mario Lopez is still a hottie. He was second place on Dancing with the Stars, acted on Broadway and played in a lot of Family Channel movies. Mario has a reality show now and became a new daddy this year.
