On a recent visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin, the boys and I met my niece at the Brats Stop. The Brat Spot is known for its' fantastic brats but serves a wide variety of other dishes. I had already heard rave reviews about The Brat's Spot brats so I decided I would order something other then their specialty. I ordered their golden fried chicken dinner instead. While we waited for our meals, the boys were provided with their own menus that served as not only a menu but also a coloring sheet to keep them occupied while we waited. They were each given a dish with crayons; that and their root beer floats kept them plenty occupied.

When our food arrived, I am sorry to report I was not impressed with my meal. The chicken was greasy and the mojo potatoes were over done. The other side dish I received with my dinner was coleslaw, which came in a small plastic container holding approximately two tablespoons full of coleslaw. The coleslaw was not bad though and unfortunately the highlight of my meal. Now, although my meal was disappointing, my boys' meals were quite the opposite. They ordered the Chicken Fingers off the children's menu and received three fairly large chicken strips and a large amount of fries perfectly done. My niece ordered the Macho Nacho meal. It was truly impressive and tasted great. It could be that I caught this establishment on a bad day for chicken, plus, I did not complain about my meal giving them a chance to make it right so I cannot give the Brats Stop an overall bad review. The service was great, quick, and friendly and the prices were comparable to much anywhere else you would go for a sit down meal.

The interior of the Brat Spot gave a mixed impression. One could say it would remind you of a truck stop, another could say it reminded one of a bar with dance floor and stage, another could say a 60's restaurant, and another a video arcade. In actuality, it is all of the previous and some more. When you first walk in you have to the right of you a small store called the Brats Stop Cheese Mart where they stock a variety of cheeses and brats and other miscellaneous items for sale. The Brats Stop Cheese Mart is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 8 am to 11 pm. Coming back towards your left you will see the Brats Stop Bar, which is open from 8 am to 1:30am on the weekdays and 8 am to 2:30 am on the weekends. It is decorated with several large screen TVs. The bar runs a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7pm. On the far back wall from the bar is lined with video games and off the hall from that are where the restrooms are located. The restrooms were clean and spacious. Off to the left of the of the hall you will see a few small rides that one might see in front of their local grocery store for small children to ride and a few more video type games. Overall left of the Brat Spot establishment you will see a large stage area where they have live entertainment. They have housed some impressive names. By going to the Brats Stop website, you can see what upcoming entertainment they are offering. Finally yet importantly, the Brat Spot has ample seating as well as offers free wireless internet.

Other then my one time disappointment, The Brats Spot is a unique place to grab a meal, some cheese, or brats, a drink, entertainment or all of the above. The Brat's Spot is located at 12304 75th St., in Kenosha, Wisconsin. To find out their specials of the day is or what live entertainment they have booked, you can reach them at (262) 857-2011 or go to their website at http://www.bratstop.com/

A brat or otherwise known as bratwurst is a sausage composed of pork, beef, and/or veal. Nope, we are not eating kids. lol!

What in the world is a brat? Around here a brat is a truly sassy child. I feel safe in assuming you are not eating kids up north. ;) Those nachos look great.

You're too funny with your photos of the menu, and all of your dishes. I'll have to remember to take my camera the next time I dine out since I'm a dinosaur and don't have a camera on my phone. :-)

The Brat Stop is a great place for brats and Bloody Mary's on Sunday mornings. And you can get some great cheese in the shop. Your descriptions were really great. Hit it right on.
