This treacherous path
Leads o'er the abyss,
Where rages and wrath
Do slither and hiss.
Leads o'er the abyss,
Where rages and wrath
Do slither and hiss.
But crossing the chasm,
High over the waves,
As no mere phantasm,
The draw-bridge, it saves.
Both costly and tragic,
The world's greatest loss,
With no simple magic,
The Bridge is a cross.
And though it was broken,
The Bridge never failed.
The power was spoken;
The Bridge, He prevailed.
Step onto the cross-walk;
It's not safe, but strong,
And this Bridge will unlock
The place we belong.
