The Bright Vivid Colors of Spring

Makeup Styles for Spring: Let Them Show in the Makeup Colors You Chose

Makeup colors are stronger than ever this summer, bright is definitely what's in. Remember that old 80's style of matching our eyeshadow with the color of our shirts? Well, I definitely wouldn't go that far, but adding a splash of bright color to your eyelids, lips or nails is definitely what's hot for the summer. And the official bright color of spring would have to be purple. Once, only kings and queens were allowed to wear purple, thus the term "royal' purple, but now this beautiful, bright shade can be worn by anyone. The color purple is really flattering to those who have just a hint of yellow undertones to there skin. For day wear, try a slight wash of lavender or a hint of burgundy over the lids and underneath the lower lash line. At night, you may want to go with a darker color, such as violet or amethyst. Keep the rest of your makeup light and airy, allowing your eyes to speak volumes.

For the orange lover in you, try a dark shade of peach or coral lipstick for daywear. And for nighttime, a vivid hue of coral or salmon brighten up your look and add instant sparkle to your lips. There's no color like orange to bring a burst of spring or summer cheer to your face.

Pink is the most feminine color, anyone can look pretty in this bright, cheerful color. Its beautiful for your eyes, nails, lips or cheek, and you can find it in colors ranging from cotton candy to vivid pink. For a wonderful feminine look, consider using a darker shade of pink on the lips with a cooler shade on the cheeks. This creates balance while opening up your face and creating that light, barely there look we all hope to achieve. The darker, more vivid shade of pink on the lips is perfect for having attention focused fully on luscious lips.

What better color to usher in summer than green? All skin tones can successfully wear green. Consider applying a lighter shade of green to the eyelids while outlining eyes in a darker, richer shade, opening up the eyes. Most green shades of eye shadows are better with nude lips and light cheek colors. Summer is here, so allow the bright, vibrant colors of spring and summer to show through in the colors you chose for your makeup and wardrobe. Invest in that new bright pink lipstick or purple eyeshadow, to make you feel feminine and pretty, and to enable you to face the summer confidant of being at your best.
