I once possessed a broken cup; the clay was chipped and cracked.
Impossible to fill with living water that I lacked.
I never got a good long drink that took my thirst away.
I desired a new cup, one of the finest clay.
I went back to the Potter who had made my well-worn cup.
He smiled and kindly said to me, "It's time to give it up.
I'll make for you a new cup you can fill up to the brim."
He formed and shaped a vessel from the life I gave to Him.
Now my cup is overflowing and I drink from it each day,
Grateful to the Potter and His hands which formed the clay.
My cup is running over with the joy that life can bring,
And my thanks is ever given to Jesus Christ, my King.
