I used to buy books by the armload but with economy in the crapper, I've had to cut back to save money. That doesn't mean I haven't stopped reading. As a matter of fact I read even more than I ever did. The reason is because I went and got myself a library card from the Brooklyn Public Library. My local Clinton Hill Branch has been a godsend as they have free wi-fi (I had to cut back on my internet service).

I even had to give up my xBox but the Clinton Hill branch took care of me. They have weekly events, and they even have a Playstation Gaming event where I can go and show the local gamers how dominant I am in Guitar Hero and Rock Band (although I am playing 13 year olds).

Along with all the economic problems these days, its becoming harder and harder to find a new job. But the BPL has you covered as they are holding a resume-writing workshop over the next few months where staff from the Education and Job Information Center will help you craft a resume that will be sure to get you hired. Check out the BPL website for times and dates.

Once you register for a library card, you'll be privy to plenty of great features on the BPL website including access to countless articles and databases and lots of downloadable media.

I highly suggest you head over to your local branch of the BPL (especially the Clinton Hill branch) and get your library card. There are options galore to help you through this tough economic time!
