The Steelers are loaded with speed. They play with incredible intensity. I am waiting for a formal investigation by the NFL into what appears to be a serious problem with these players drinking way too much Red Bull. I guess that explains why no Steelers are featured in those 'G' commercials. And I hate to admit this, but it took me weeks to figure out that 'G' has anything to do with Gatorade!
Another thing, and I know this has been mentioned before, but the similarities between Mike Tomlin and Omar Epps is startling. Every time I see Tomlin shouting something I just assume he's saying "It's Autoimmune, or possibly Lupus." Paging Dr. Foreman, paging Dr. Foreman.
How can the Browns hope to compete with them? Well, as much as it might seem like a good idea, LeBron is not the answer! And The Answer isn't the answer. I wish I had the answer. Although it seems Bruce Arians finally figured out that when you need nine yards for a first down you don't call a play where the receiver runs eight.
Then we come to the Ravens. Joe Flacco. Seriously. Is he for real? He played a brilliant season and other than his three interceptions in the championship game, looked pretty good with his feet to the fire. I am not buying it though. I hope he turns out to be a bust. As a matter of fact I hope the Ravens never win another game in Baltimore and are the first franchise to move to Europe. (Just on principle, no matter how far away they go, even if they became the Yemen Ravens, my anger towards this franchise won't be abated.)
Unfortunately these two teams are factories. They simply move players in and out of their systems and demand success. The Browns seem to move people in and out of their system and demand they end up on the NFL's version of "Where Are They Now". Well, wherever they are, they aren't poor.
OBrady-Quinn Kenobi seems to be our only hope. I just hope he can stay healthy! I also hope that it doesn't become a tradition to beat up the Browns QB in the weight room. More power to Quinn though for standing tall. There's no more room for fun and games if they want to compete with the Ravens and the Steelers. There needs to be a serious culture change there. A "Commitment to Excellence". Just take the Raiders motto from them, they aren't using it.
As far as Cincinnati is concerned, do they still have a team? I can't even hate that team with any passion because I feel so sorry for them. But the more I think about it, I guess I don't really feel sorry for them, because they still find ways to beat the Browns. Man, those loses make it really hard to remain a fan. But as always, bleeding orange and brown- I'm out.
