The Bucket List: Part One

Amanda King
Maybe 23 is a little young to start thinking of all the things I'd love to do before I die, but it never hurts to start early. Do you have a bucket list? Why haven't you started one?

Amanda's Bucket List: 1-20

1. Own a funeral home that is within my house.

2. Build a log home. The kind with large rooms, a large kitchen I'll never cook in, and a huge fireplace.

3. Own six Basenjis that will start to form their own dog pack.

4. Live in Denver, CO. for at least 2 years.

5. Visit the Motherland (aka Japan).

6. Disappear for a week to just WRITE.

7. Own a 1950s classic hearse. Not for my future business, but to drop the kids off at soccer practice.

8. Home school my children.

9. Skydive.

10. Learn a form of martial arts.

11. Run in the "Run Like Hell" marathon in Cincinnati.

12. Visit New Orleans to hang out in one of the cemeteries and drink Absinthe.

13. Stay the night at Lizzie Borden's Bed and Breakfast. At least try to stay the night without getting too spooked.

14. Own a drum set.

15. Apprentice in tattooing just for the hell of it.

16. Show my Basenji in a dog show.

17. Take a hot air balloon ride.

18. Tag along with a storm chaser during tornado season.

19. Quit smoking.

20. Be fluent in Japanese.
