Director: Rob Reiner
Edward Cole runs a string of hospitals with an iron fist, and lives by the motto: "I'm running hospitals, not health spas. No one has their own room, no exceptions." Well that is until he winds up in the hospital himself, and realizes he has a roommate by the name of Carter Chambers. At first Carter seems like a quiet, sad individual, but as time progresses you find the he is a very outgoing individual with the highest intelligence. He has been an auto mechanic for a majority of his life.
One night Carter can't sleep, so he decides to scribble on a sheet of paper. Apparently he didn't like what he was writing and crumbles up the piece of paper and throws it away. The next day however Edward finds the slip of paper and reads it; asking Carter what it meant. Carter goes on to tell him that when he was in college his professor assigned the class to make a bucket list - a list of things you'd like to do before you kick the bucket. Upon hearing this Edward thinks it's a remarkable idea and starts to jot down a few things himself.
The lists consisted of things such as:
Sky diving
Kissing the most beautiful girl in the world
Helping a complete stranger for the good
Needless to say they start to get out and accomplish the items on the list, and while doing so you see that Edward isn't the tyrant that you thought he was. Carter actually begins to live his life outside of his wife, kids, and being stuck under the hood of a vehicle. By the end of the movie, there is a bond between the two men that can never be broken. The ending is priceless. Rob Reiner has really done it again.
I love the fact that Hollywood is allowing more biological parents and children to work in films together. I believe that is makes the chemistry between them more convincing. Alfonso Freeman is the son of Morgan Freeman, and the scene between them in the film is so heartwarming. Also there is one item on the list that Edward has a problem with, but telling you will truly spoil it. So you will have to see the film, because I don't do spoilers!!!!
We tend to wait until we get some devastating news before we start to live our lives; always waiting on tomorrows, next week, or taking that vacation next year. The sad truth is this time is not promised to us, we should get out and enjoy life when we can; while we can. It has truly inspired me to make a bucket list of my own. What will be on yours?

Thanks for the review. I really love almost any movie Morgan Freeman is in, and have been wanting to see this. Glad you did the review! Now I'm assured it should be good!
Excellent! Please keep the reviews coming. I love the idea of a "bucketlist," although the title makes me laugh. I guess it is a good idea to make a list of the things you want to do before you kick the bucket and at least accomplish some of them. Thanks for sharing!
