The Bus the Tire the Chicken and My Foot

What These Things All Have in Common with Jenn Bove

What a Day

Sunshine Wilson did an article last week on their bad luck week. It is called Good Luck Needed After a Week of Bad Luck and can be found here. Believe me, I felt their pain as I read because I'm not exactly known for good luck. I'm clumsy on top of having bad luck, but apparently have been on a roll as nothing had happened in a while. So I guess you're still wondering what a bus, a tire and a chicken have in common and what they have to do with me. Well apparently I was on a "roll" yesterday!

Got done physical therapy all went well,
Everyone there was so nice, content with their jobs you can tell.

Found out the 107 bus stops one block away
Seems I'm having some good luck today!

See I live kind of in the middle of the woods, no bus comes near.
The 107 though is only one mile from my house, that I can cheer.

Although only an hourly bus,
Receptionist looked it up and only had a half hour wait, cool no fuss!

Bus came early hooray for me!
soon I'll be home that I could see.

On the bus a mere five minutes before luck started to change fast,
My good luck it seems wasn't about to last.

The bus broke down,
This gave me a frown.

We'd have to wait another hour until the next scheduled bus would come,
We had stopped at a stop sign and it refused to go forward after, from the engine came a loud hum.

OK, deep breath nothing I could do anyway,
Some people got off on walked, but I had to stay.

Called for a ride and got lucky, they could come get me!
Waiting for them to come I thought well this isn't so bad, now I don't have to walk the mile home from the bus stop, see?

Got off the bus to wait, wasn't sure what car it was was that was going to get me.
Looked across the street and the was a car broken down, that I could see.

Well turns out it was my ride,
on the way to get me they hit a curbside.

Tire was flat,
The car for a moment sat.

Then the friend of a friend who came to pick me up,
Got fast to work, a flat tire wouldn't make him stop.

Changed the tire in no time flat,
Got home and for a moment sat.

Time to make dinner daily routine one cannot stop.
Opened the freezer door and before I could catch it, something did drop.

Like the chicken had me in her sights,
onto my bare foot she fell, three pounds of rock hard frozen chicken, it hurt so bad I saw lights!

Now I can't move my toes,
can't put on a shoe, have physical therapy soon, how am I going to do it?

Lord only knows!

You could make this a great, publishable short story in a women's mag. Especially mysterious title & who doesn't love a mystery. My friend, I'd say you were out of the Tao!

Sounds like everything that could go wrong went wrong. Don't worry - I was "born clumsy" and if I don't have a stupid incident for a few days I think something is wrong. Hope your foot isn't sore for too long.
