The Butterfly

Susan Elliott
Her satin wings,
painted in the brightest hues
Cadmium red, ochre,
Dioxazine purple and raw umbre.

She is a gift from God;
lighting between rose and honeysuckle,
then gently resting on my shoulder.

She, a prime testament to creation,
flutters gently on the breeze
darts through clover fields
and fills my heart with hope.

    Really beautiful. Normally have lots of peacock butterflies in the garden, and other butties.
