Open for both breakfast and lunch, The Café offers a expansive menu featuring many different options for a great meal. They also serve breakfast all day so it's a great place to visit when you have a weekend to sleep in but still want a good, filling morning meal any time of day.
Breakfast options include a wide variety of delicious options. Having been a patron for a while now, I've tried almost all of their omelettes and each one has been as tasty as the first. The Trenton Omelette is a combination of fluffy eggs filled with pork roll, peppers, onions and cheese, it's a definite must try. Another fabulous pick would be The Irish, with its combination of potatoes, cheeses, onions and peppers. You also have the option of building your own omelette with any combination of fillings you desire, ranging from various cheeses, vegetables and breakfast meats. Omelettes are also available with Eggbeaters or egg whites and each one is served with fantastic homemade home fries and toast.
Breakfast sandwiches at The Café are equally appetizing; each one is served on you choice of a Kaiser roll or toast and it comes with a side of homemade home fries. My favorite breakfast sandwich here is the Big Daddy, which is an omelette served on a long roll. Tasty! Café Breakfast Specials are also a great pick; the Café Combo of two eggs and a short stack of pancakes served with your choice of breakfast meat and toast is a belly filling meal that won't put much of a dent in your wallet. The BEST Combo is the French Toast Stacker sandwich, which features a perfectly prepared French Toast sandwich filled with peanut butter and bananas.
The Café's pancakes and French toast offerings are also wonderful, they are perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the toppings one can select range from bananas, walnuts, and blueberries to chocolate chips or M&Ms candies. Another filling breakfast option would be their oatmeal, which can be served with nuts, fruits or raisins. The Café also offers muffins and dry cereal, as well as bagels and fruit cups for a lighter morning meal any time of day.
For lunch, The Café serves a wide variety of sandwiches, soups and salads that are sure to please the palates of everyone in your group. The Café Lunch Specials are great because they are each served with French fries. Their Monte Crisco sandwich is a must-have, it's so perfect; the grilled ham, turkey and Swiss cheese paired with two slices of The Café's amazing French toast is a sandwich you can't go wrong by ordering. The Café Happy waitress is equally perfect; it's an open-faced sandwich of grilled ham, bacon, tomato and cheese. Lastly, Dogs and Fries is a perfect pick for a warm summer day, two hotdogs served with fries, toppings of chili, sauerkraut and cheese are available.
The Café's salads are obviously made fresh daily, they are crisp and wonderfully tasty. My favorite salad is the Buffalo Chicken Salad with it's spicy crispy chicken and crumbled feta cheese on a bed of Iceberg, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, mushrooms, carrots and croutons. The Café offers a Cobb Salad, a Caesar, a BBQ Chicken and a Club salad. Salads can also be substituted for fries with any sandwich for a small fee of $1.25.
The Café's Burgers and Chicken Sandwiches are also a reason to stop by. The Hickory Sandwich can be prepared with either a chicken breast or a hamburger and it's topped with BBQ sauce, bacon and cheddar cheese. Oh my, is it good. You can also build your beef or chicken sandwich with any combination of cheese or vegetable.
The Café's wraps are also a perfect lunchtime treat. Again, each wrap is served with French fries. The Chicken taco wrap is among my favorites, filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and taco seasoning. The Cheesesteak hoagie Wrap is also terrific, filled with cheesesteak meat, lettuce, tomato and onion; it's a lighter way to enjoy your Philadelphia cheesesteak.
The Café also features a Kid's Menu; so feel free to have the children tag along. The menu features both breakfast and lunch options. Breakfasts include eggs and omelettes, silver dollar pancakes, French toast or dry cereal and each breakfast meal is served with a child's sized beverage. Lunch options for the kids include favorites like chicken fingers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or hot dogs. Each lunch is served with French fries and a drink.
The Café is truly a spectacular restaurant. If you're in the area or live nearby, think of The Café for your next quick breakfast or lunch. The whole family is sure to find something they'll enjoy.
