I believe God puts people or situations in our lives when we need them. When we need help.
There have been many times in my own life that has happened and I was either too involved or upset, or feeling sorry for myself to realize the Calvary was already there.
Oswald Chambers, the Scottish author of 'My Utmost for His Highest', said, "Self-pity is of the devil, if I go off on that line, I cannot be used by God for His purposes in this world."
So how do we really know?
There's a commercial I see sometimes on TV, that shows a green line, like a ribbon flowing down the road. According to the advertisement if you stay on the "green line" you'll be on the right track.
Wouldn't it be great if life was that easy? Just follow the green line?
If I had my life to live over one of the things I would have done is pray about everything. I used to just pray about the "big" stuff. Now, I realize I should have prayed about everything.
Every decision in my life. I don't think I would have strayed from the "green line" as often, if I had just remembered to pray.
I Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing.
