Cambridge ended their 2009 football season with a huge victory over rival Meadowbrook. The Cambridge Bobcats defeated the Meadowbrook Colts 76-28. The Cambridge Bobcats closed their 2009 season with a 5-5 record.
The Cambridge Bobcats lost ten people to graduation in 2009. Cambridge will be without leading runningback Tyler Hardesty. Tyler Hardesty rushed for 552 yards for Cambridge in 2009. According to the Daily Jeffersonian, Hardesty ran for approximately 3,000 yards entering his senior year. The 2010 season Cambridge backfield will also be without fullback Kyle Cox, who graduated in 2009. However, Cambridge will have Dashawn Lewis. Lewis was Cambridge's leading rusher in 2009 with 832 yards according to the website www.cambridgebobcats.com. Cambridge will also have senior David Evancho as a quarterback prospect for the 2010 season. Evancho was Cambridge's leading passer with 405 yards and four touchdown passes according to www.cambridgebobcats.com.
The Cambridge Bobcats will have a strong veteran squad the 2010 season if everyone returns to play this year. The 2009 season closed with eleven plyaers who will be seniors this season.
The Cambridge Bobcats have made it to the Region 11 high school playoffs three times under head coach Rick Goodrich.
High school football is a huge part of southeastern Ohio. People in Cambridge, Ohio work hard and enjoy Friday night football.
