After researching printers I decided I would be better served getting myself a multifunction printer. I had used one a few years ago, and really liked it.
After looking around I ended up at Best Buy, and found the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer for $109.99.
The Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer prints, copies, scans and also will fax documents. I was going through a mortgage refinance, and needed to fax multiple documents seemingly every other day, so having a multifunction printer that gave me fax capability was a must.
I have had Canon printers before, and have always been happy with them, so I knew the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer would be no exception.
The Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer prints at a resolution of 4800 x 1200 maximum DPI if you want to print color photos. I do print an occasional photo, but I usually print text, with some few color graphic charts from time to time.
The Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer powers up in just two seconds. I like to be able to start printing immediately when I turn on the printer. Other printer I have had took up to a minute to be ready. The printer speed is not bad either. You get 7.5 pages per minute of text, and 4.5 pages per minute of graphic printing. I actually timed it and found that this was pretty accurate.
One thing I would have preferred was to have multiple color cartridges like my older Canon Inkjet had a few years ago. It seems to me the color performance is better that way, but unfortunately the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer has a black cartridge and a color cartridge.
I do like the LCD control screen on the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer though. That is a definite improvement over the older models.
The automatic Document Feed on the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer handles up to 30 pages. The paper try hold 100, so this is not a problem. One thing I have learned with ADF's, make certain the pages you plane into it have never been folded. They will get stuck every time.
The photo printing capability has some issues. While you have some photo editing functions, like red eye removal, the actual photo prints looked washed out.
Overall the Canon Pixma MX330 Multifunction Printer is a good functioning multifunction printer, with an emphasis on printing and copying text. For what you pay you get a good bargain.
