We were visiting a near relative that had just returned from a trip to Italy. Looking at her photos of the trip, I asked what camera did she use to take the pictures? Her response was a Canon Power Shot A560 Digital Camera. The pictures were magnificent. All of them! The clarity and colors were superb and I knew this woman was as much a beginner in photography as I am a beginner.
The research
I began to look in the stores at the digital cameras. Some of the other brands had some nice features, pretty colors; however, the clerks all told me they sold more Canon cameras than any other. Prices of all cameras varied greatly, from cheap to very expensive. I also asked some of my friends that I knew had digital cameras, which camera they preferred. The majority said Canon for the best pictures.
Purchase
I purchased my Canon Power Shot A560 Digital Camera from Best Buy. Before I left the store (at my request) the clerk had activated the camera, putting the batteries in, settings done and memory card inserted. While there I did purchase a carry case and extra batteries. I was all set to point-click-shoot!
Test Shots
As the instruction manual suggested, I started taking test pictures of various topics, distances, sunlight to shade, still or moving. I took about 32 shots in all.
Transfer to computer
The next day I installed the software to my computer that came with the camera. I got the cable ready and connected the camera to the computer. The only problem I had with this was finding the small port opening for the cable on the computer. They tried to hide it from me and were successful for a little while!
Expecting the transfer process to be difficult.....I transferred the files three times in rapid succession from the camera to the computer. (So much for difficult) I did delete the excess files. The editing feature on the software is just as easy to use.
Instant gratification
The Canon Power Shot A560 Digital Camera is everything I hoped it would be and much more. It is easy to use, with almost unlimited quantity and no film to change. It takes beautifully clear pictures. The editing features were a very pleasant surprise to a beginner like me, but the best part is the instant gratification! From email to printing pictures, I think the Canon Power Shot A560 is great!
