The new school playground is now open! If you haven't seen it yet, but you'd like to get a look at it from your computer, click the following link: The Carroll School PS 58 School Playground.

The playground was built by non-profit Out2Play, Inc. The architectural firm was Margulies Hoelzli. Sponsorship and funding for the improvement to the school playground came from both private and public sources, including Barclays Nets Community Alliance and city government.

This particular school yard had very little in the way of inspiration, consisting of a piece of cracked asphalt that had a few drab, faded white paint markings on it. Now! It's full of color and markings that outline different activities all of the school children can enjoy, with special notice of the numerous hopscotches and artist's circle.
