The Case of the Missing Jewelry

Mary Ann Halstead
"Darn it Jessie, how do you keep losing your jewelry?" Papa asked

"But Papa, I didn't lose my ring, It was right on top of my dresser when I went to bed last night. " Jessie cried.

Her favorite ring, a gift from her grandmother, disappeared during the night. Over the past few months, any jewelry that she left out, instead of putting into her jewelry box, ended up missing the next morning.

A thorough search of her room each time, led nowhere. There seemed to be no clues and no ideas as to where the jewelry might have gone.

Jessie curled up on her bed, hugging her white, Persian cat, Missy close to her, and cried.

Do you know what might have happened to Jessie's missing jewelry?
