Casey Anthony is the mother accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee. Casey turned the entire thing around, attempting to put the blame on her parents. She said that her mother left the ladder in the pool, which allowed the baby to climb in and drown. She said her father sexually abused her as a child and that he is the one that covered up the baby's death. She never took any responsibility for the death of her child and it apparently worked in her favor. Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her child.
The fact is, Anthony did not report her daughter missing for a month. That is a long time to hide the fact that your child has died. She never reported it and on top of it, was out partying all the while knowing that her daughter wasn't safe. I don't know for a fact that Anthony murdered her child. I can't say whether or not she should have been convicted. That isn't my job, it was the job of the jurors.
In all honesty, if everyone would admit it, Casey Anthony probably would have been better of being convicted of the murder. Here is why. Consider the fact that thousands of people across the United States believe with everything in them that Casey Anthony is guilty. Casey has to live in that world now. It will not be an easy world for her. She will likely find it very difficult to find work. She has alienated all of her family so she really has no one to turn to. People of the United States are very unforgiving, even when someone has been acquitted of charges like these. This will follow her for the rest of her life. She isn't free now. She will never be free of that again. It will follow her every place she goes.
People will likely show no mercy to Casey. Because the case was high profile, she will be forever associated with the death of her child. Even those who think that she wasn't guilty understand that the fact her daughter was missing for a month before reporting it is just plain wrong. When people are angered over the death of an innocent child, they will not easily be swayed to show mercy. It is human nature.
Remember what happened with OJ Simpson? Yes, him again. That was one of the most highly publicized trials of the century. Simpson was arrested for the murder of his estranged wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994. Simpson walked around with a smug look on his face after he was found not guilty by the jury. The two families later sued Simpson in civil court and won that case. People were passionate about whether or not he was guilty. No one was going to be swayed, no matter what was said. The truth is, I believe with all my heart that he killed Nicole and Ron Goldman. That is my opinion and I am entitled to that. Whether he actually did is between him and God.
My point is, Simpson messed up bad. He was later arrested and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. He was sentenced to 33 years in prison for those offenses after he was found guilty in a court of law. For many people, like me, it was sweet justice being served a little bit too late. The same thing could happen with Casey Anthony, who in all reality, has just been given her first "get out of jail free" card. Even if that doesn't happen, who really believes that she is going to live a glamorous life once she is released.
No matter what this woman does in the future, she will be watched. The world will be watching and waiting for her to mess up one more time. Too many people are angry over the case for her to live a normal life. She will be living her own personal hell as people snub her and treat her with vehemence as she tries to restart her life. Prison would have been a cakewalk compared to what she will be facing outside prison walls.
I don't understand how a mother could laugh and dance without breaking down at some point knowing that her child was missing, let alone dead. I don't understand how a mother could not be frantic with a missing child. Most of all, I don't understand how this woman could look at herself in the mirror and not break down and cry every single day of her life. There seems little remorse or care on her face as she smiles from ear to ear that she will soon be released from jail (more than likely).
In the meantime, people around the country stand with their jaws to the ground as they try to wrap their heads around what this mother is guilty of. She may have been found not guilty in a court of law, but the fact that she didn't report it for a month is enough to convict her in the eyes of those she will have to live among once released. God knows and God will take care of it. He always does. Until then, the people that come into contact with Casey Anthony aren't likely to be kind to her. For now, that is the justice everyone will have to live with.
The country mourns the death of a little girl most never met. This child represents so many other children around the United States who are victims of various crimes that have no voice. People are fed up with parents killing their babies. People are getting fed up with people abusing their children. People are just getting fed up with other people in general for the downright cruel and mean nature that so many seem to have these days. There is an excuse for them all. They all were abused as children. They all were sexually abused when they were children. They all dealt with drunk or drug addict parents when they were growing up. The world got fed up with that line a long time ago. There is little sympathy for those who blame their crimes on the way they grew up. It doesn't float anymore and that is a good sign. Now if the criminals who murder and abuse children would figure that out and stop using that as an excuse to physically harm other human beings. It's a lousy excuse and everyone but the criminal realizes that now.
Whatever you feel about this case, there is one thing most people will have in common. Two-year-old Kaylee was far too young to die. Kaylee deserved a better burial than to be tossed into a hole, covered up, and then forgotten. This baby deserved so much more than she got. Children innocently trust their parents because they have no other choice. Kaylee is one more in a pile of children that die at the hands of the one who is supposed to look after them most. She is now a symbol for those children.
Rest in peace little Kaylee. When people ask "Do you remember that little baby that was killed and her mother was accused of it?", people will automatically remember little Kaylee. Just don't forget the other children who are dying as well. Right after hearing the report about the innocent verdict, the news reported that a two-year-old child was shot in crossfire in the city. We live in such a sick world these days. God rest Kaylee's soul along with the other children being slaughtered on a daily basis. You are a small reminder of what the world has come to. People say they would love to have world peace. How can you have world peace when there isn't even peace at home?
