The Cast of the New Survivor 19

A brand new season of Survivor starts September 17 on CBS. This 19th season takes places in Samoa. Get ready for new alliances, immunity idols, and tribal councils. To get you ready for the big premiere, here is a list of the new cast. Let's go over brief details along with my first impression for each.

Ashley, 22 - a personal trainer from Minnesota. She is blonde, a former cheerleader, and describes herself as "flirty". Showmance anyone?

Ben, 28 - a mixologist from Los Angeles. This former country boy says he never gets rejected by the ladies. We'll see if that stays true on the island!

Betsy, 48 - police officer from New Hampshire. This married mother of four looks tough. Has only been a cop for one year. Will she be labeled into the "old crowd"?

Brett, 23 - a t-shirt designer from Los Angeles. From Oregon, a college grad. Like others, he claims to enjoy the outdoors. Otherwise, seems a bit boring to be honest.

Dave 38 - a fitness instructor from Los Angeles. With a nickname of "Danger", and a family full of preachers, he is a sure one to watch.

Elizabeth, 33 - an attorney from New York. An ivy league grad and native of South Korea, she may be one of the more intelligent of the group.

Erik, 28 - bartender from Ontario, CA. Claims he is a womanizer with a hobby of skirt-chasing. Do they purposefully cast people who are out to have a showmance? I think so.

Jaison, 28 - law student from Chicago. Very well rounded education and activity-wise. Scaled the top of Angel Falls, plays musical instruments. Look out for this guy to make it far.

John, 25 - rocket scientist from Los Angeles. Claims to be a genius, also a former semi-pro soccer player. Isn't this the second rocket scientist on the show?

Kelly, 25 - hairstylist from Los Angeles. A bleach-blonde with tattoos, who calls herself spontaneous. Another young person who may spark a relationship to boost ratings?

Laura, 39 - office manager from Oregon. A mother and grandmother living in Hawaii, she is also a fitness instructor and a conservative Christian. I foresee religious arguments this season.

Marisa, 26 - student from Ohio. Grew up on a farm with many siblings. She has traveled to third work countries to help the poor. Seems like a nice girl!

Mick, 33 - Doctor from Los Angeles. A single anesthesiologist who needs to pay off his loans and buy a vacuum. Has a long list of pet peeves. Cute but seems to be annoyed by people.

Mike, 62 - personal chef from Marina Del Rey, CA. Also a former college football coach, this guy has a beard with a braid in it. It would be cool to have a chef prepare the rice on the island.

Monica, 25 - law student from San Diego. Claims to be a bookworm, party girl, and have the power of persuasion. Too much confidence may lead to her doom.

Natalie, 26 - pharmaceutical sales rep from Arkansas. Another bleach blonde. This one is a southern belle. Already in a relationship, so no showmance for this one I guess.
Russell H, 36 - oil company owner from TX. Married father of four, 200 pounds of muscle with a bald head. This is one guy they will need to get rid of down the road for being a physical threat.

Russell S, 42 - an attorney from Glenside, PA. A dreadlocked dude who works for environmental protection. Seems pretty cool.

Shannon, 45 - a sales rep from Washington. Former marine sargeant, rides motorcycles. For some reason I see her leaving pretty early in the game.

Yasmin, 33 - hairstylist from Los Angeles. (yes, another one). Grew up in Detroit, sicknames "Sassy Yassy". Claims to have a big mouth... that may get her into trouble.

That's it folks. Your cast of Survivor 19. A lot of people from Los Angeles, no? I see some fiery individuals that will be sure to spark a few disagreements. Also there are many young attractive people who may have a relationship on the island. Any way it turns out, I will be sure to tune in yet again to see these people tough out extreme living conditions for a chance to win a million.
