Cat owners in Wichita interested in compassionate, personalized care for their cats should check out this hospital. As many cat caretakers know, the veterinary needs of cats can differ greatly from the needs of dogs. While all veterinarians receive training in many areas, it can be beneficial to have a veterinarian who Is focused on feline care.
The Cat Hospital is small but well-managed and Dr. Jones and her staff have worked hard to provide a clean, professional, and feline-friendly environment.
About the Cat Hospital Veterinarian, K. Kelly Jones DVM:
Kelly Jones DVM received her degree from Kansas State University in 1994 and, although she loves dogs as well, chose to focus on feline medicine in her practice. Dr. Jones is a member of many veterinary organizations including, but not limited to, the AVMA ( the American Veterinary Medical Association) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Dr. Jones also founded the program, "Pets in Crisis," in Wichita . This free service helps place pets of women who are staying at the Women's Shelter in temporary foster care. This important program allows abused women peace of mind, the peace of knowing that their pets are being cared for in a safe environment, while the women take refuge at the Women's Shelter. For more information about this program please visit the Cat Hospital of Wichita web page.
In my article on choosing a vet , I stressed the importance of bedside manner. Dr. Jones is the kind of person animals feel comfortable with. My senior cat, Sophie, is a one person cat. She is exceptionally nervous around other people; each time I've taken her to visit Dr. Jones, however, I've been impressed by Sophie's calm reactions.
About the staff:
The human staff currently consists of six compassionate and professional individuals. Upon arrival, you and your cat will be attended to promptly and courteously.
The Cat Hospital is also staffed by several clinic cats. These cats serve as greeters, blood donors, and entertainers.
Services provided:
The Cat Hospital of Wichita provides many services including dentistry services and emergency services during regular business hours. Many diagnostic services are available and include endoscopic procedures and glaucoma screening. X-rays, as well as several kinds of lab tests can be done on site. Fees for procedures are average for the area.
Spay and neuter surgeries are offered same-day; this means you have the option of dropping your cat off in the morning and picking her up later, that same day.
Boarding Facilities are also available.
Location:
The Cat Hospital of Wichita is located in the Normandie Shopping Center on East Central. Parking places are abundant and you should usually be able to find a spot not far from the door.
If you are a cat owner and are seeking a veterinarian in the Wichita area, I highly recommend the Cat Hospital.

This sounds like a really great place. One of my brother's four cats is very sick right now, so I can understand the importance of having a cats only clinic with a caring staff.

Awe - this is a lovely, caring article. My girlfriend is an extreme cat lover and very picky about her vet and where she takes them in an emergency. Great article!
Excellent review, and cat-only clinics are important for cats who get nervous around dogs.
