Visiting the Dockers website, you're invited to register to win free pants; this isn't one of those giveaways that guarantees that almost everyone that signs up get free pants. Instead, the Dockers website claims that it will be just be giving away thousands of pairs of free pants. And if you read the fine print, there's one other catch: there's no guarantee that your size would be available, should you be one of the lucky thousands to win. However, a shot at free pants is still something worth signing up for.
And free pants weren't the only free item advertised during the Super Bowl; Denny's offer of a free Grand Slam may have been extremely stressful to chickens, but lots of Americans will be taking advantage of the free Grand Slam. However, like the Dockers free pants giveaway, there's a bit of a catch to this one, too: the offer is only good on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. So a lot of Americans that work will have to get up early to take advantage of the offer, or take an extra-long lunch break. With the lines of people waiting outside of Denny's restaurants to take advantage of the free Grand Slam offer, it's almost not worth the time and stress spent to get the hastily-made breakfast plate (I can only imagine how many crotchety old men's peaceful mornings spent reading the paper at his local Denny's will be ruined by the free Grand Slam offer). However, Denny's definitely wants people to know this offer exists, using screaming chickens to wake you up during Super Bowl commercials (I guess the ladies make just as good alarm clocks as roosters).
But while the free Grand Slam is a good deal, it's looks like the pants-less guys of the Dockers free pants commercial made that ad the second-biggest Super Bowl winner behind the Saints.
