The Catholic Church and Sex Abuse

Rev. Lawrence C. Murphy at a school for the deaf in Wisconsin is the epitome of the corruption and power of the Catholic Church. For years, he sexually abused little boys. Little boys that were deaf. Little boys that couldn't communicate like everyone else.

According to an excerpt in the NY Times, the boys reported the abuse to every type of official they could think of that he was a danger, according to the victims and church documents.

They told other priests. They told three archbishops of Milwaukee. They told two police departments and the district attorney. They used sign language, written affidavits and graphic gestures to show what exactly Father Murphy had done to them. But their reports fell on the deaf ears of hearing people.

Why? Why did these children have to endure such torture at the hands of someone who was telling them all the while to be a good Catholic and to be good Christians. A man that their parents told them to mind and to respect. Yet, they withstood pure hell in the name of heaven.

The Catholic Church took upon itself to be the Supreme Judge on Earth of people's behavior. Nobody appointed them. They made themselves the World's Watchdog of morality. They stand in their gaudy outfits in judgment of our lives. They tell us what they believe is the right interpretation of the Bible. They add their own ideas and call it right. Now over 200 young boys, all grown up into men, are outing this Murphy guy as a monster. A monster that the Catholic Church created. The current Pope Benedict, knew of the abuse. He knew this man was ruining these little boys. Yet, when it was in his power to do something, he did nothing. He allowed him to go back to work and hurt more boys.

How long will the World ALLOW the Catholic Church to have such power? We have seen in the thousands, the boys who have been damaged by these clowns. Priest who, if they could marry, may not have committed these horrible acts. Priests who were NOT Gay, but desperate for sex. The celibacy rule has created many homosexuals, which is a horrible sin in the Catholic Church. Homosexuals that would not have been that way, had it not been for sexually frustrated Priests. Kids that were not born gay, they were made to be gay. Though in fact, they still weren't.

There is something wrong with this picture. The picture that lets the Catholic Church pass judgment on us and our moral structure. It gives them political clout with many, yet they are the worst offenders. They are the ones who are committing horrible sins. They are the ones living a lie, a false life. How many have we not heard about? How many little boys, doing what they were told, have fallen victim to Priests who have not been stopped? How many more are there?

The Catholic Church has been allowed to have too much power for too many years. Where is law enforcement? Why are they allowed to monitor and punish these sex offenders? Why are they not punished by our laws? Too much power by the Church. When screwing little boys becomes OK by the Church, the entire world is in serious trouble. When we allow them to be the ones to administer punishment in these cases, it is a slap in the face to the millions of Catholic believers across the World. It is a slap in the face to our laws and justice systems.

Pope Benedict should step down. If this is the leadership he is going to give the Catholic Church, he is a failure. He is a farce. My question would be, did he do the same thing, but it hasn't come out yet? Has he abused kids in the past? Is that why he was so lenient on Murphy? Why did he allow him to get away with this outrageous crime?

I don't abide by what the Catholic Church tells us we should do. They are a bunch of liars. They are hypocrites. They are like so many religions. They preach one thing during mass and live like the Devil all the rest of the time.
They condemn us for anything we do, but yet they are in the Parish screwing little boys. Is that right? Hell NO.!

We are a sad world when we sit back and allow our children to be abused. Especially by someone of such stature. A Priest, or a Boy Scout leader, or anyone else who looks us in the face and tells us they are going to take care of our children while they are in charge of them. Castration is not nearly enough.

Murphy will never receive justice. The boys, now men who he terrified and abused will never have any peace. They will live with the fact that this monster, died with the honor and respect of someone who lived right. Of someone who treated people, especially children good.

I can't imagine the horror these boys endured. Trying to get someone to believe them and only getting screwed more, both physically and mentally must be the worst fate imaginable.

Shame on the Catholic Church! Shame on the police and DA that wouldn't help them! They should all be sued and the Catholic Church should just back away from moral monitoring of us and focus on how messed up they are. They should shut up and clean up their own house...Do penance or hail Marys or something, but shut up telling the World how to operate if you can't even manage your own people. Maybe letting them get married, instead of forcing them to turn into monsters?

Maybe, realizing they are human and not Gods. That they are subject to the same issues we all have. Taking a long hard look at themselves would be a start. Not covering up the truth would be even better.
