The Cause of Acne and Its Remedy

Acne has been a problem for a lot of people. Some may even have recurring acne despite efforts to subdue this skin condition with expensive dermatologists' appointments, creams, and treatments. Others feel hopeless with their seemingly unending duel with acne that it tends to lower their self-esteem and they feel less beautiful compared to people with clear skin. However, these people need to understand that having acne does not make them any less human than those who do not have them. They have to comprehend the causes of acne, some natural home remedies to prevent and treat them, and the importance of balanced diet for clearer skin.

For starters, acne is caused by an overproduction of sebum from the skin's oil glands. The oil glands secrete oil to keep the skin lubricated. When the oil comes in contact with dead skin cells, they tend to form a layer that clog the skin's pores, preventing the excess oil from coming out. Bacteria are then contracted in this layer resulting to a red inflammation known to us as acne.

Now that we are aware of the causes of acne, we can proceed to the natural home remedies that can be used to treat it. There are several home remedies to treat acne and their potency highly depends on the willingness of the person to establish a treatment schedule and be able to stick to this schedule religiously. We all know that to have healthy skin, we must have clean skin, so the first step in treating acne would be cleansing. Cleansing can be done by mashing avocado in water and applying it to your face or by washing your face with water where lettuce or grapefruit have been boiled from. Next step would be deep cleansing of the clogged pores by scrubbing. For this you can use ground almond nuts, orange peel, apricot, chopped nutmeg, or even ground coffee. To lighten acne scars, one can use lemon juice, garlic essence, cucumber or even watermelon juice.

Though these remedies will prove to be effective when done dutifully, we have to remember that having healthy skin is a reflection of your general health. So apart from the remedies mentioned, let us not forget to take care of our health as to exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and keeping ourselves hydrated by drinking lots of water. This will not only make the skin healthy but it would make us feel good as well.

Having acne should not affect a person's well being and personality since this is just a physical condition. What is important is having a positive outlook in life. Do remember the saying that beauty is only skin deep. But having clear skin certainly have its benefits so if you are acne prone now, do not fret since there are a lot of cheap home remedies available for you to employ and in no time, you will be flaunting a clearer, acne-free skin.
